Has AMD commented about availability of the new 5000 series processors? Should it be better than the last time?

Here in Czechia at launch only 1 retailer had them in stock, 5950X and 5900X went quickly, 5800X and 5600X held a little bit longer but in about half an hour all were gone. None to be seen anywhere now.

Ugh, looks like the eBay used 5600X and 5800X prices have tightened up, hard to get a good deal on a 5600X that is worth it; after tax, might as well just buy a new one :confused:

@B-Riz

Scalpers who got hung out to dry holding excess stock probably dumped inventory last month or so. The prices have evened out now that the market is back in equilibrium. It also shows enduring demand for the product well after its launch.

RIght, I scored an eBay 5800X for the price of a new 5600X, doubt there will be sweet deals until Zen3+ starts hitting mass availability.

I'm thinking I'll wait out till Zen4 launches before picking up 5900x (not thinking V-Cache isn't going to worth in terms of price/performance). Trying to drag out my x570 system's investment for a while. I'm pretty happy with more performance now (except for my GPU). Good deal @ B&H right now - below MSRP right?

Yeah, I'd like to replace my 2600 but my gtx1060 is more urgent IMO.
Seeing the prices though, I think the CPU will be replaced long before the GPU.

I *think* I'm going to treat myself with the big kahuna 6950X or whatever it is. I am going to avoid DDR5 for a few years like I did when DDR4 went mainstream with Intel 6 series; I picked up a 4790K in 2015 instead of a 5820K and rode that until 2019, fully replaced with a 3900X.

LOL I forgot how meh the 5820K was at launch :laughing:

Yeah, DDR4->DDR5 will probably go the same way as DDR3->DDR4. It will take a few years for decently priced, high speed DDR5 to become available.

Nice to see stock normalizing now, amazon has the 5950x listed as available with 1-2 days. Took me three friggin' months to get mine, from november till February with constant monitoring....royal pita. Got lucky though, was able to nab my 5950x and 3090 on the same day though =P.

You're correct and its the first time that I've ever seen that happen. I suppose that AMD is making good on its promise to stock the shelves, however, they need to do that with the gpu's something fierce.
