Has AMD commented about availability of the new 5000 series processors? Should it be better than the last time?

Here in Czechia at launch only 1 retailer had them in stock, 5950X and 5900X went quickly, 5800X and 5600X held a little bit longer but in about half an hour all were gone. None to be seen anywhere now.

A bot. 😁 And it still missed half a dozen 5600s before succeeding and 3 5900s today. And my 5950 isn't coming until Jan 7. 5600 probably going to a friend but if I end up with anything extra I'll sell to established members here at cost.

Mind sharing details on the bot? I've been trying to get hold of a 5950x with no luck! Seems that bots are the only way to obtain one!

Use translate.

80% of 7N wafers allocated to AMD are for PS5 and XBox X.

I own both now. :)

We have 4 PCs in the house.

I owned a RTX 3070 for almost 24hrs. I only bought it for scalper trade bait and had no intentions of putting it in my rig. I put it up on OfferUp after it was delivered in trade for a 5900x. No trade offers, but a person offered me $680 for it the next AM so I sold it. A couple hours later a 5900x popped up for sale a couple miles from my house and I offered him $680 for it and he accepted....Scalper got my flippers profit and I only had to pay $10 over retail for the 5900x in the end. I was hoping to just trade it, but it all worked out for the best anyways.

Kenmitch, please keep us informed on your thoughts about the 5900x.

I "pre-ordered" a 5900x very early the first day from B&H but from the look of things I'll be lucky to get one in early 2021.

I gave up on ordering a 6800XT as that truly was a paper launch.

You can get an 5950X in Europe the only problem is that those who have them in stock are those who set the price much higher like up to 999Euro.

Will do....But as you already know it's a BEAST.

I'm currently stress testing my memory at 3800MHz CL14 which 100% loads all the dang cores. After toying with multiple sub-timings and voltages I figured out the 1 single sub-timing that was giving me errors. All I had to do was raise the tRCDR to 15 which eliminated all the errors! I'm now seeing if I can tighten up some of the other sub-timings that I loosened during the process. So far so good.

I locked my cores at 3.6GHz @1.01v's and it's at a blistering 39c @ 26 minute mark is about all I can add at this time....Other then it's a whopping 2w a core.

Honestly If i had the time I would grab a 5800x everytime they come in stock and sell it here. Maybe like $10 bucks(gas) over price + tax and shipping.

You have tons of patience to play with sub-timings on an individual basis o_O

As for undervolting and locking to fixed clock, that's what I do when running office task during work day on my PC. It's amazing how fast these PC's can be even when limited to under 45W power use.

The quick trips in and out of the uEFI aren't bad....It's the dang prolonged memory stability testing that sucks! I locked the core low as it's a waste of energy! I doubt cpu speed effects the outcome anyway.

I think I got 3800 CL14 dialed in now. I'm not sure if there's any room for improvement on the timings?

I got a hold of a 5900X but decided not to buy because I have done zero research in anything else. To whomever my cancelled order went to, enjoy.

I'll buy in a few months once prices get reduced some in response to Rocket Lake or whatever hair-brained bull Intel pushes out.

Where did you manage to get a hold of one at?

I've waited 2 years to upgrade :\

I have always built my own PCs since forever but I gave up trying to acquire the latest and greatest (5900x + 6800xt) and ordered from Falcon. Well at least ill have a pretty cool case :)

Well I hear their customer service is outstanding.
Oh and this a 3 week wait, normally 7 to 14 days.
