Got the Rig setup today.

Windows installed for now and will have to work on transferring my Steam games etc.

Ran into a weird quirk also after I updated to the new bios system wouldn't boot until I unplugged all the storage drives then put them back in.

I got the Corsair MP600 for $249 CAD and will sell the 750.

I’m sitting here thinking this is the cleanest build I’ve ever seen - and then I notice there's not GFX card! Thanks for sharing - hope you get the boot problem sorted.

Decided on a BenQ EX3203R for display. Good enough for me. Was going to get a small 4k tv, like 43" but decided I care about refresh rate than number of pixels.

3500 is only 6c/6t, so that makes it harder to recommend, especially with next-gen consoles around the corner.

I would only recommend the 3500 if you want to spend money on a 4000 series which hopefully will be supported by our motherboards when it is released late 2020.

Just built my first desktop (for me) since Opteron 165 in 2006 xd

3700X
Aorus Ultra
16GB Ballistix 3600
Asus RX 5700 XT
Adata 1TB SX8200 Pro nvme
Corsair RM 850x

Reused the Ultra Red Dragon case ftom Opteron lol

Currently hooked up to Vizio P-65f1 until I decide what to do with display.
I had that case in blue, i think mine was the chieftech brand. How are those tiny intake fans not driving you crazy? Also this is a cool looking build and your white PSU exemplifies when i hate PSU shrouds. Why would anyone want to see 90% of their system but not the other 10%?

I don't care to see anything. I wanted an e-atx case with glossy finish and they were all windowed.

fans don't bother me. you should hear my Nortel Baystack howl.

Boot issue was fixed last night, after the bios update I had to unplug all storage devices, once it booted into bios saved changes and everything was fine on next boot.

Here are some more pictures of it completed.

Here are the numbers for the Samsung 860Evo's 1TBx2 in Raid 0

These drives are mounted on the back of the motherboard tray so not visible.

Very happy with it so far and was quite the long delay between upgrades. The x58 rig had a 10 year run, and now will be retired as a backup system.

Next set of upgrades will be to go 32GB of Ram, and I may look at 3x140 RGB's for the case fan and 3x120 for the fans on the Rad.

I disabled XMP and did set the timings manual (similar to the calculation tool), this seems to work now and better.
latency of 67.4ns with 4 sticks of 16GB, it was about 71ns when the XMP profile1 worked on boot.
According to AMDs slide that should have been 69ns for 3600, CL16 :)

Meh. New mobo, same error - no boot device found (EZ debug LEDs). 2 digit debug code 02. Both errors are the same as with the previous mobo. Hard to figure out how the bios based CPU tests succeed but M.2 and SATA drives don’t show up as present. Getting very annoyed.

First, make sure you disable secure boot. Then (this was on a EPYC bios) there may be some setting about how the IO is configured thats also a problem.

My best bet is on secure boot.

Refreshing an old i5 2500K gaming system cpu/mobo/ram (has a 980 though). Solid B450 board and appropriate 16gb ram. Is the best buy for a cpu < $200 a 3600 or a 2xxx series? What about ~ $150?

Can’t post, so there's no way to do anything in the bios. This board/CPU, whatever just won't boot up.

Code 02... I'd suggest checking your power and cables.

Stupid question maybe. Are both the 8 pin and the 4 pin CPU power cables connected ? We have others that have said, they can't even post if both are not connected.

Ugh. Thanks. I don’t have an additional 8 pin EPS 12v connector in the Seasonic box (there are two on the board). Never looked before because I didn’t need it in the last build it was in. Curses. PCIe 8 pin has a different pin out, IIRC.

Yes, you need 2 that are labeled CPU. Pretty sure we found the issue.
