Alright, so we've had some leaks so far. I don't know if any of it's been confirmed yet, as it's pretty early, but here is what I've surmised so far (massive grain of salt of course):

If if turns out to have RDNA 2 and 12 CU, I could see iGPU performance potentially almost doubling over Cezanne.

If I've made any mistakes or gotten anything wrong, please let me know. I'd also love to hear more knowledgeable people weigh in on their expectations.

I am still waiting on my 6800U laptop. was supposed to ship the 6th, now the 26th, and it could be 2 weeks after that. They assured me it would ship in 30 days.
 
why would anyone buy a 6800U at the current outrageous price levels? the only decent deal i've seen was the 13" lenovo @ $860 with discounts but since i am looking for a 15.6" laptop i decided not to take advantage of it. hopefully by the winter holidays there will be options available for under $1k.
 
6000 is little more efficient, have usb 4.0 and better igpu, but as i said, with those prices i could buy excellent 5000 series laptop with much better external Nvidia gpu, and efficiency alone doesn't worth that extra money, not even usb 4.0.
 
Beside the fact that there's still nothing below 1000€ (well 995€) availability of Rembrandt laptops is good in Germany.

What's disappointing is that among the 64 readily available configurations, only 10 are using U series chips. Also only (different) 10 of those actually have USB 4 connectors (which aside RDNA2 would be the big reason for me to pick 6000 over 5000).

Isn't usb 4.0 part of design? I mean all 6000 models should have it?

The CPU fully supports USB 4/Thunderbolt 3, but manufacturers still have to include a controller interfacing between ports and the CPU. The controller is responsible for enabling and mixing all possible combinations (display port, power delivery, data rate etc. pp. especially certified Thunderbolt is very demanding in that regard) so the laptop's layout design can be less complex when just foregoing it.

Looking at the previous list, Lenovo and especially HP tend to do that work, ASUS doesn't at all, and Acer has just one Rembrandt offer anyway.

DDR5 is part of it but it's not that expensive. AMD has to be charging a lot more for Rembrandt versus Barcelo. As to how much I can't tell. Rembrandt is 17% bigger which doesn't help.
 
Every successive DDR memory generation has been better than the last. I do not expect this one to be different. But I always wait until the interface gets bugs worked out. Never had good luck with early adoption.
 
4C/8T RMB in sight, guess that they have now enough semi functionnal dies to harvest..

Mystery four-core, eight-thread AMD Rembrandt processor makes Geekbench debut

An unknown AMD Ryzen 6000 series processor, likely the Ryzen 3 6400 or Ryzen 3 6300, has been benchmarked on Geekbench. In the CPU benchmark, it scored 1,321 and 4,261 in the single and multi-core tests. Its RDNA2 iGPU pushed its OpenCL benchmark score to 13,755.

Damn, my condolences. If the situation doesn't improve by the end of the year, I'll get something at a discount with the 5000 series, black friday will be interesting.
