Alright, so we've had some leaks so far. I don't know if any of it's been confirmed yet, as it's pretty early, but here is what I've surmised so far (massive grain of salt of course):

If if turns out to have RDNA 2 and 12 CU, I could see iGPU performance potentially almost doubling over Cezanne.

If I've made any mistakes or gotten anything wrong, please let me know. I'd also love to hear more knowledgeable people weigh in on their expectations.

Well, this makes me happy that I have not wasted $861 on my new laptop !

The perf at 12W is such that it should cover all usual apps needs, nevermind browsing ..

This one has a better screen but it cost more, for usual apps 1080p is way enough, dunno why they are using a 2880x1800 screen on a 13.3"...

Will availability improve? I found maybe 3 models of 6800u, and 1 6600u, but prices are extreme.

They say that the 6800U is in short supply and that availability is scarce for both Asus and Lenovo, there s also Xiaomi that sell a relatively low cost 6800U based laptop and the chinese market is big enough to drain a sizeable part of the supply.

we can only hope. current availability is very limited & prices are very steep. perhaps in 5-6 months there will be far more reasonably priced 6800U options like AMD suggested at their Feb launch announcement.

i don't think there is any doubt that the 6800U is the best apu available in terms of price for all around performance. from what i have heard phoenix is going to come at a hefty price so rembrandt may still be the bugdet king even a few years from now.
Note: Lenova said ship date would be 7/6 when I ordered it. Then it changed to 7/7, then it was 7/11. NOW it is 7/12, who knows how far out this will be before I get it. Christmas ?

5000 series (Cezanne) mobile took about 10 months to have any real supply. I think it'll be the same for 6000 series. AMD needs to work on their supply chains (I know this is easier said than done). By the time a series has real supply they've already released the successor (true for 4000-6000 series so far). 2000 and 3000 had more immediate supply but 14nm/12nm wasn't supply constrainer like 7nm has been.

Must be shipping from China. On a steam boat.
I asked them. They said it was shipping from NC (North Carolina) It would take a week to get here. If they shipped it when they said, I would have it by the 13th, before my vacation. Now I iwll have to take the old one along, and have to use AC, since my battery will not hold a charge.

Edit: Actually they said it would ship from their US warehouse. I did the googling, and NC is the only warehouse that Lenova has in the US

They keep their shipping estimates conservative to avoid making a promise they can't keep. Hopefully you will get it early.
I just got an email on the delay. Now they say up to 30 days.....

Their exact text:

Order Placed: 07/04/2022
There has been a change to the estimated ship date for one or more items in your order, and we are unable to ship them by the original date promised.
We are working hard to get your order shipped as soon as possible, and it will ship within the next 30 days. We will send you an email as soon as it’s shipped. Click below to view the latest status information for your order.

I wouldn't be so sure it's the CPU supply itself that's the bottleneck there, in the past AMD seemed pretty good at proactively preparing for industry wide shortages (e.g. ABF substrate etc.). So I can imagine other laptop components, as well as supply channels in China (lockdowns still being a common occurrence there) being the bottleneck constraining the supply. Then again the roll out of variants (6600H, 6800H/HS, 6900HS/HX being relatively abundant, with the rest missing for a long time) should have been made in a much more transparent manner.

The only thing I buy from Lenovo these days are the absolute cheapest of devices that are covered by the extended warranty on my credit card. They're about average for sub $400 devices with respect to quality, and even have better specced gear then many competitors in some cases. I just don't trust their initial quality and especially their support.

Makes me wonder, we might see eventually a Ryzen 3 part of the series 6000 which might NOT be a Mendocino part? I mean, if there is a succesor of Lucciene part.
