Please keep fudzilla garbage links out this thread. Chiphell has a record of having good information unlike fudzilla, which is a troll site that posts outright lies and has a slant.

European pricing will not give any accurate reflection as it is subject to an already included obscene VAT.

Thanks.

It says tcmagazine? and its from French a re-tailer? whats wrong with that?

Chinese pricing is better, your kidding right?

If you don't understand European pricing and VAT and how it compares to US pricing versus how Chinese pricing relates to US pricing, then please don't ask me if 'I'm kidding'

At least until you've taken the time to understand, turn off your RSS feed from Fudzilla and read up on it 😀

Truth is niether will give you an accurate US figure so why post it?

I can't believe you post this after having just defended doing exactly that yourself ?

So since you felt that way about my post you thought you would do the same ?

Come on man, get consistent at least. 😱

I didn't see that french e-tailer and I didn't see the article on that website, at least some screenshots. Just proves It's BS.

SO for you seeing is believing? Then this whole thread is invisible to you?

Considering the fact that you seem to take suspect Fudzilla posts as golden, this comment would seem to be much more applicable to you.

What others are asking for is some sort of evidence that can support the claims being made. I hope that even you can admit that evidence is at least mildly important.

That said, there are screenshots of the French e-tail price. This tells us nothing about MSRP nor about what other e-tailers will list the cards at. Wait and see.

Oh, the irony.

A pretty popular computer shop from my country already have a pre-sell. Converting to USD
6950 - ~370$
6970 - ~480$
Other cards
580 - ~530$
6850 - ~190$
6870 - ~250$
Looking at the other cards prices here looks like 10-30$ over the MSRP increasing with the value of cards. So maybe 6950 - 350$ and 6970 - 450$ MSRP?.
Last time they they did a pre-sell of cards the prices were pretty close also.

Ok I am sorely tempted to jump on a GTX 580 soon.. EVGAs finally back in stock on newegg.ca

now - here's my question, I guess without knowing performance yet we can't really know how much nvidia's pricing will change...

just thinking, am I holding out over a 20-40$ price difference?

I am also betting that 6970 would be just a bit less performance than a 580... guess I was thinking it might surpass it and I'd stay with team red, but now looking like best single GPU might be the 580. And I could have one next week.

I dunno i'm just REALLY running out of patience and need a sanity check. I've been unable to play PC games for a while now and i'm wondering if I'm waiting for no reason now!

If it turns out to be a soft launch/paper launch it might not affect the 580 price at all. Although you are probably only looking at $20-$40 and even that may be in the form of a rebate. Then again NVIDIA does like to rain on parades so it may at least be worth waiting until Tuesday.

Well of course they do. NV will rain on AMDs parade with a minimum $100 price drop on the 580. Nothing else they can do.

argh whats one more week....

i guess I'll wait... (dammit!)

could tweak the system a bit I guess over the weekend so its ready for whatever comes my way..😉

GPUZ screenshot of a 6970, notice the temperatures with a downclocked and what I have to assume is under-volted core.

Superior texture fillrate to a GTX 580, as expected, by about 40%.

Should be interesting, I see the 6970 as faster in texture intensive games and superior for 2560x1600 and gamers who want to play with 3 monitors.

Doubtful...

If 580 is still the fastest GPU, the price could actually go up.

Nope. The 480 didn't even go up despite being 20% faster - there is no way the 580 is going to go up if its only a few % faster

Gibbo @ OCUK, a big e-tailer, says they have tons of 6900's and there won't be a repeat of the 58xx launch with low supply

But hey, continue suggesting soft/paper launch
