The actual article is here, though you need to translate it to read it. At the bottom you do get a better look at the card, and even though the number is blurred, it looks like it is a 6950.

The 6970 and the 580 are going to be priced the same it appears if the information is correct, so more than likely it is going to be $499 in the US.

From the other forums I've been reading it seems the 6950 might come first and the problomatic 6970 later in small quanities.

Ok Lonyo, Don't have an anneurism.
You are far to tensed up about graphics cards man. 😉
So. Looks like its a 6950 then. Hey, does the 5850 have two Xfire connectors on it?

Well Tri-crossfire works well for me -5970/5870 at 900/1200 screams much quicker than my 5970 alone

Gibbo, staff at the webstore overclockers.co.uk has stated he's already bought and paid for 6950/6970 cards and has 'many' on the way. UK pricing:

6950 @ £270 - £300 Inc. VAT
6970 @ £360 - £400 inc. VAT

Pre-VAT pricing is closely inline with the earlier estimates in this thread

6970 - $570 USD
6950 - $425 USD

Going on pricing and AMD's efforts to keep performance data quiet, these cards are going to be monsters.

You're the one who likes image quality so much, yet you can't look at a simple picture and see the model number stated on the card.
Lol, owned. Nice Lonyo

God I hope so, I've been looking for a decent upgrade. The only downside is I won't be back in the US until January to buy one :|.

people the 69xx are coming soon, can we just agree to this and get past the point of asking whether a photo is real???? Jeesh AMD needs this to survive, so unless something major is happening, it's coming!!

That wasn't the point. We all know that the Cayman cards are coming. It's just that we haven't seen many real (if any) legitimate photos of the card. I really wonder what reference will look like, if it's any different from the 68xx cards.

So what will happen if ATI gets the single GPU crown with a non monolithic core approach?

Its actually funny if these prices are true (it was targeted at $449 originally), as its clear AMD does NOT want a pricewar this gen (seriously, wth 6870 still msrp $250). Not cool for consumers sadly.

A few weeks ago everyone was worried about supply issues, talk of poor yields, drmos etc. Looks like there wont be any supply problems.

AMD slices down Radeon 6950 allocation
logger.php

http://www.tweaktown.com/news/17883/amd_slices_down_radeon_6950_allocation/
They are citing SA, who is down at the moment.

SA also says that 6970 will be in much larger supply than expected, which might be a good thing for yields, cause the 6950 is a cut down 6970

And STOP doing the damn currency conversions people! Look at what those rival cards cost in America. $600 USD converted from Chinese dollars is irrelevant if the GTX 580 is the same price after conversion - thus in America, it should cost the same as the 580. It's not $600/450, it looks more like $500/350

edit: what SA wrote

Short story, 6950 board allocations were cut and probably delayed a little bit from actual shipments. While it wasn't stated explicitly by our source, word on the street says it is due to a last minute BIOS tweak. This is not unusual for product introductions, and there are zero reports of any hardware problems on any Cayman based board.

The upside to all of this is that the allocation of 6970s just went up, a lot. Some were hinting that numbers are really close to that of the 6950 drop. If you know anything about semiconductor production, that should give you a bit of insight about yields and bin splits

The 5850 was 250 when it came out (before it went up after a week) and now the 6950 looks to be between 350-400. WTF AMD! I've been buying AMD for my past few card cycles because at around 250 they were the best out there, but now we can't even get the good stuff unless we want to part with 100 more dollars. No me gusta...

I hope nv prices the 570 nicely and it beats the 6950 so it smacks some sense into this new pricing structure of AMDs...

Who honestly gives a **** about the looks, you only see this card 1% of the time you will own it for, what matters is what's on the inside.

HD6850: $180
HD6870: $240
HD6950: $350???
HD6970: $???

AMD has a $250 card, the HD6870.

When one forgets what one's looks like, it's time to go on a diet.. 😛 In all seriousness though, I really hope some price wars get started when these cards release. I am building two new systems and want to see something more competitive for my dollar like we saw with the 160. There have been some really great deals in that market segment.

Well, the 6870 being @ ~$250 should have told you that the 6950 was going to be higher.

Here's the S/A link, since some are quoting it here.

The 6870 at 250 told me the new pricing scheme sucked by about 50 bucks. But because nv always prices things too high, they had the margin. In the past, ATI liked to undercut. Now it doesn't seem that way.
