AMD Price cut

wow... now i want a phenom II and turn back to ATI... after all.. i know nvidia is better and such... and ATI lifetime sucks... but hello!!!! is better to pay less when u dont have a job at all... all u doing is robbing around...

Can't wait to see what the 945 can do. These AM2+ only chips have got to be a stepping behind the AM3/AM2+ cross-compatible PhII's, and a new stepping could also mean lower power and possibly better performance combined with DDR3. I'm hopeful until proven wrong.

Huh? Intel's price cuts have already gone through...just go look at mwave.

q9400 - $224

Newegg has started easing their prices down but hasn't just dropped them like mwave did.
 
I suspect the AM3 Phenom ][ chips due out next month will take the previously occupied prices points of the 940 and 920?
 
Its not over yet . Now AMD has forced Intel to cut pricies . Now it gets fun for you guys . But I think this is terriable for AMD. So in leess than 1 month well see PHII at the price Intel wants it below $200 . Not long ago a member asked me how I could justify my call for PHII under $200 . Well heres the dam ans . And I hate it. When your on railroad track and train is coming straight at you . Don't play chicken cause your gonna lose.

I am getting a little pissed at this board. No one that I have ever seen has tried to help you guys more than I have . I have been wrong wrong only once . That was the dam R-600 and my brother inlaw set me up for that fall . He thought it was funny . Ha lol. Ha Ha.

I told you guys to short AMD stock when it was still in high 20s I told ya to short NV . I hope some listened. I even explained it to ya. But what did I get Flamed . Jesus C.

I just don't get you guys. Ya have people in here telling ya to buy this or that and ya praise them for spamming. Geez! Iam sorry I seem I little short here. But there is not one of you guys I wouldn't trade places with. I should have known better than to try
helping you guys. They murdered the Lord . So what should have I exspected in a world that has degraded since the lords time.
 
Newegg just dropped the prices. This is accurate. 940 = $235 920 = $195. I wonder when we'll see the older 9950 and 9850 drop in price. I still wonder how Quad pricing will look when we've got Phenom II 9XX, Phenom II 8XX, Athlon X4 6XX, and 9950/9850 remaining on the market. Possibly some other 65nm Quads as well since 65nm Phenom will remain in production until summer from the last roadmap I read. Makes me wonder how they'll price Phenom II X3, Athlon X3, and Phenom X3 as well.

Just wondering, is there anything legally preventing Intel from constantly replying to AMD's price cuts? Cause I'm pretty sure Intel can afford to keep dropping, but not AMD.
 
can't wait till next month.

my board supports am3 chips, but only 95 watts , all the chips coming out next month are 95 watts though not 125 like these....

the phenom II x4 910 looks like it could be fairly cheap if the 925 costs the same as the 920, i'd figure we could see a phenom 910 @ 165! and even less for the 8xx ones

Yes and no . to your question . Intel has to be careful what they do on pricing I5 . But the old tech intel can set any price as long as it not under cost. This thing that AMD is in is like our 401 k . Itsa bankers trap . We have very little control . Amd is between a rock and a hard place. They challenged intel once again . Like hector and company don't learn from history. Amd should have brought PHII in at a lower cost. They new Intel cuts pricies every jan. So they place PHII in the performance line up at intels old pricies.

I don't know who represents AMD . But AMD lawyers suck . By lowering their pricies from the intro price less than 30 days after the fact . Allows Intel to cut further . Its a freaken tradedy. As the courts would see Jan. as normal price cut for intel. The courts would also recognize that AMD knows that Intel cuts pricies in Jan. So AMD blew it on the intro price. Intel can legeally cut again . pound for pound what ever AMD does Intel can match . But only to the point were intel doesn't sell below cost. AMD screwed up once again bigtime.

Tell me sir why in the hell would you be happy about that. This is ANANDtech right? Sometimes I think I am in OZ. And AMD is the watered down witch screaming I am shrinking I am Shrinking. And we the users applauding as the witch shrinks down to nothing. Shameful!
