The 7840U (if that is its name) is missing. It is shaping up to be in almost no designs like the 6800U before it.
Really would like to know the reason why this keeps happening.

The price and DDR5. That's why the crazy naming scheme is there - AMD lost out on sales of Barcelo because OEMs didn't like that it looked old.

Can the Intel 13th gen beat a 6800U/7735U on efficiency?

Sounds like AMD is splitting up the product lines to provide capacity to its partners while still being able to compete across the various classes?

Rembrandt-R (N6) - cheap and still performant in the 15W segment
Phoenix (N5) - HS segment for premium revenue gathering - also has the AI for extra revenue raising
Dragon (N5) - HX segment - letting the Zen 4 cores scale with power to compete in the upper range gaming laptops

I personally hope to see a 7840HS on a 14" model that can do a tent stand with good USB4 (Thunderbolt 3), but I fear the prices will be exorbitant. But it should be easier to get a 7035 class unit since AMD should be able to saturate their channels with N6 sku's.

There you go, mystery solved 😛

Neah, but loosely that should be it. Availability's prolly gonna be a pain tho.

Haha, good one. May I add that PHX2 might only support single channel of LPDDR5-7500x which provides total bandwidth of 60GB/s. Half of PHX1 but should be enough for 2P+4E and 4 CU. At least compared to i3-N300, the extra speed helps.. :D

It is 1536ALU with lower clock speed, pretty impressive
Great info. Many thanks. It's very hard to find out the actual info for SoC IGPs.

Adreno 730: 1024 ALU * 2 FLOPs * 900 = 1843 GFLOPs (100%)
Adreno 740: 1536 ALU * 2 FLOPs * 680 = 2089 GFLOPs (113%)
The difference in FLOPs is pretty small.

It's also very interesting that in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Unlimited Adreno 740 and Rembrandt 680M score very close, yet TFLOPs are 2089 vs 3686 or 76.5% more for Rembrandt IGP.

"Windows Studio" effects are exclusive to devices with dedicated AI hardware, iirc, so like it or not, it'll probably be important to have going forward.

So Adreno is a desktop class GPU architecture? This bodes well, since Qualcomm is looking to become a major player in the PC market with their upcoming Nuvia based SoCs

Adreno is an anagram of Radeon. This was a mobile solution developed by AMD in the early 2000's and sold to Qualcomm in 2009, so I would bet it has a lot in common with early 2000's Radeon GPUs. I have no idea how much Qualcomm updated since then.

So if I understood that correctly it already exists for ARM devices and can be applied to video input regardless of the video call software used?

I just saw video at BB stated the A1 steppings of PP has some issues that cause low score of Timespy of 2600 which is same as Rembrandt. There is new B steppings which supposedly to be retail version...no words on availability though o_O

Is It only in Timespy or also in games?
Is It possible what they tested for press release was this A1 stepping and that's why there was only 21% improvement showed?
Just a speculation.

Only Timespy being mentioned, he did say new steppings supposedly have Timespy score of 4000...guess we are in waiting time
