I didn't see a specific thread on AMD's new "Naples" server processors based off of the Zen core, so I decided to create one. Here are the specs:
http://wccftech.com/amd-zen-naples-server-cpu-vega-gpu-platform/
https://arstechnica.com/information...essor-more-cores-bandwidth-memory-than-intel/
32 Cores/64 threads
128 PCI Express 3 lanes
32 NVMe devices
8 channel DDR4 memory
Support for up to 4 GPU's in 1 1U server form factor, 8 GPU's in a 2U form factor
Sounds impressive!
I wonder which cloud providers they will be partnering with? Most organizations are trying to get away from running their own server rooms, so AMD really needs a design win with a cloud hosting provider like AWS, Google, or Microsoft Azure to make some real money from this.
