Info AMD has dropped 5000 & 7000 series CPU pricing

After bad earnings (really bad: revenue -40%, unit shipment -43%, ASP +5%) from last quarter, AMD has finally made up their minds to officially drop their CPU prices

I have back up and bench GPUs, but I keep at least one APU on hand. Out of curiosity, why do you miss the iGPU if you don't mind answering?

I really liked using it for my 2nd monitor. I have been having trouble with videos on the 2nd having low or inconsistent FPS while gaming on the primary or if I have 2 streams up one on each, one will not be full FPS. primary is 75hz freesync, 2nd is just 60hz.

I am actually using a USB displaylink adapter for my 2nd monitor to alleviate the issue for now

AM5 is the only platform that isn't dead.

I'd argue it is dead for most but I see your point over all. AM5 is ok for gaming with future upgrades in mind (namely a 7600) but then you have the ddr5 problems (price and speed especially). For say, serious multi-threaded work laods high end 12-16 cores makes sense. Sure, mobo prices suck but if its a system you get 4-5 years out of its not that bad.

I'm just so much over "future upgrades" options after my AM4 experiences especially with cpu's getting good perfomance upgrades every 1-2 years lately.
