Oh no, another audio presentation. It's nearly 11pm here, I'm off to bed. I'm jumping online as soon as I wake up, and when my screaming wakes up my wife it better be a cry of joy at graphics-related details, rather than a moan at hearing that this audio stuff is all we're really learning about the new GPU. Night y'all

The way you put it, it seems like they are trying to shift focus off their card which probably won't beat the GTX 780, and to something different to make you forget that it's slower. I am not watching currently but if it's like everyone is saying...that's the feeling I get.

I agree. Instead of focusing on performance, more 'marketing features' are being pushed. We all know how well that has worked for AMD on the CPU front.

More Corez!!!

So I'm probably the only one...

But...

"Hey our new GPU has a big bus, check out 4K res"

Ok let's talk about something else so we can avoid talking about how it isn't as fast as some other card(s)...

They should of put up a few minutes of Battlefield 4 running on a 290X or several of them with a fraps counter in the corner. Give people something to talk about that is interesting and has some hints, but nothing concrete, of performance.

No one wants to listen to non-stop ramblings with no breaks of real content. Bring out the physical card at least...

Give them time. Always save the meat and potatoes for last. That is the only way to keep people's attention mid way.

Omg you guys are so freaking funny,i did not watch the beginning or the ending of this stream but you guys sound like me right now, going [what] is up with this freaking crap with the audio while my wife thinks i lost my mind laughing at all this audio bs and your comments lol.

I am probably more interested in the audio tech than most people here but they should have just created a separate talk just for audio.

And the horrible music between speakers does not mix well with a hard focus on audio.

The audio thingy is more than interesting , true innovation
that to recreate the playing ground acoustics caracteristics...

I hope they did not spend much time on this audio crap. My cpu does not need the gpu to help out with sound. I need more frames! I would rather trade gpu sound for another 2% graphics performance.

Another sound guy [redacted], 3 sound guys why?

I think this initiative sounds great. There was a patch for MWO that disabled 7.1 and I simply could not play the game in 2.0. It was so aweful, like playing in 640x480. But then I have exceptionally good hearing and play music too.

That's my point, a good part of gamers can't hear the difference or simply don't care, people that are like or work in the music area, are the ones that most of the time will notice the difference, you ears are train for that or already have that natural ability.

Oh God, he did not just try to convince me that reaction to audio cues is more important than visual cues. Maybe over my 12th beer but not while I'm watching a GPU launch...

Audio cues are far more important in some games. If you ever played an MMO you'll know the importance of hearing certain sounds before seeing players.
