Ran some benchmarks on my Oced FX 4100. Specs in sig. Would like some more benchmark suggestions.

I would want Trinity or perhaps a native dual-module Piledriver instead of a binned CPU. The performance is interesting though.

might build a new pc around one of those but this cpu packs a good punch ?

It packs a good punch relevant to past and current AMD products in comparison to it's price, yes, but consumes an excess amount of power and puts out much more heat since it's a binned part. A native dual module part would've competed directly with APUs and the graphics-binned APU models known as the Athlon II 638 and 641.

Have you tried the CPU on something truly CPU heavy like GTAIV yet? I'd like to hear about your experience.

what when i measured my 4100 under load it was like 71w and the FX 4100 is on par with the i3-2100 ?

IDLE: 18c and LOAD: 50c

Edit: i hate Athlons that's why i sold mines 😀 and i don't have GTA 4 but i can go to GS and buy it though

For reference: mobile procesor stock i7-2820QM@2.3Ghz)

9516 geekbench
5.44 in cinebench.

Sure, price isn't comparable, but it's a mobile sku! 😉

Pretty good on that cinebench benchmark My Sandy Bridge G850 scores 2.25 on that same test. Problem is can that chip give you better benchmarks in Games than my locked Intel SB G850?? I want to say yes, but I think it probably would be close.

games run great but what games did you have in mind ?

(the bottom one is clocked at 4.5GHz)

Seeing how Cinebench takes your Bulldozer for what it truly is (a dual core CPU), I must say I am pleasantly surprised. That means four true cores would do as well or even better than my i5 at the same clock speeds.

If only those things didn't consume so much power, they would not be bad at all.

Durvelle27, thank you for your work. When I get my 8150 rig re-assembled with a Corsair H100 cooler and OC'd stable I'll run the same benchmarks.

I'm going to use a single 5850 as I only have an Antec 750 TP II PSU and want to focus on the CPU clocking. The 8150 is a power hog!
