It makes you wonder how much his input had with AMD's decision to file suit, and how much influence he will have in changing Dell's mind should the rebate program be altered...!

Food for thought

Food for process I would say... Talk about having a in-house source. This guy can deliver the dates and the ppl who took the decisions. That means that AMD can Subpoena (sic?) the right ppl AND ask the right questions. And once they have done that with one or two where they happen to have any proof no-one else will dare telling "the whole truth and nothing but". That must have been one of the most successful recruitments any firm has done in a long while.

I have to say that I am fast becoming a huge fan of Mr. Ruiz's management style! :)

Well how i see it is AMD has the better technology even now so Intel is in for some big problems. Besides Anti trust is a good thing since large monopoly corporations exploit the community with corporate blackmail and call it good business or whatever you want to call it, thus running the economically weaker ones out of business and then in the long run the customer suffers, when they are a monopoly it is good to have healthy competition is good for all and encourages them to improve technology to compete. My 2 cents bit here.

Well Raid is what its called. In sweden its even called "gryningsräd" trans. Dawn-Raid. So the wording is pretty corect the way I find it. Especially whne looking on what it really is when a number of unannounced offical people show up in the office confiscating pretty much every sort of documentation there is (especially personal calendars and Palms) and sometimes also computers but I don't know how far they went with Intel. Whats interesting tho is that there was more firms raided then Intel. My guess would go towards some of the bif suppliers like HP and DELL but i do NOT know anything.

Not a surprise really...

In September 2000, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission told Intel it was ending a three-year investigation into Intel's business practices without taking any action "at this time." AMD maintains another probe was opened and remains open, though inactive. The FTC did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Looks like Intel didn't pay off the Europeans off as well as the American counterparts.

And even more subpoenas...

link

AMD LAWYERS sent a fresh batch of subpoenas to computer companies they believe have information that can help their antitrust case against Intel. The latest batch were served on the 11th of July against distributor Ingram, board maker Supermicro, and against CompUSA, Fry's and Office Depot
