Looks like some decent price cuts coming in, along with 3 free games.

7970 - $479
7950 - $399
7770 - $139

Nothing yet for 7800 series.

Free games:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution + Missing Link DLC
Dirt: Showdown (May release)
Nexuiz (May release)

Not bad, and its definitely time. Already seeing price cuts, just not really on Newegg yet.

I guess.

$140 for a 7770 still seems like a lot to me. :p

How is it too much? It's the same speed as the 6850 and the same price, with the bonus of lower power consumption.

Enthusiasts have too unrealistic expectations these days. AMD can't give them away.

The 7950 at only $50 more with 3 free games kind of cuts the legs out from under the 7870 now.

So a ~ $70 price reduction, and three games, two of which will be new releases... Estimated value of what, $100? That's a pretty substantial price cut if you value the games..

I guess the rumors of the 7970 selling well can be put to rest, since AMD would never do this if their sales were high.

No good either unless you want those games.

I was hoping to see $450 7970 to put it more inline with price/performance and AMD's underdog brand. We'll see how good it is if the are OOS like 680 is.

And not lowering 7800's is a big mistake. People will wait for nvidias offerings in the middle range.

They don't pay anywhere close to $100 for those games.

They don't, but they're tickets... You could sell them...

I don't know how much all three would be worth together, but if you could get $100 out of them then you're looking at a 7970 for 6970 release prices now.

Which would make it far and way a much better value than the 680, perhaps we could get a price war going here since we all know the 680 was a $250 card replacement as such, and as fab improves Nvidia will have greater and greater profit margins to cut into to make prices more compeitive.

I'm not sure the prices are already announced, but we're still talking about two unreleased games, which is pretty good. Often we'd rather see them combo games that have been out for a very long while (Deus Ex is the example in this case, but it's not alone). ^_^

Well u can sell Deus Ex sure because by now most people have probably played them. How about the other 2?They are not released yet, so unless u play it how do u know they will suck or rock?I love rpgs and i have already played Deus ex so its not a lucrative deal for me ;)

Well these games are due to be released in May. Going by trailers, reviews and such you can have a pretty good idea if you want to play the game or not. What you can do is that you just hang on to the keys provided with the card, and if it looks interesting, you use them, if not, you sell them.

TBH i doubt you'll see $50 off those games. One is preorder for $8.99, Deus Ex is $19,who knows what dirt will get but with mass selling of it by ppl buying these cards you better be first.:p

I think I was right in the first place $450 no games is best.

Every gamer has a different set of opinions so even if the review sucks they may enjoy the game. But that's not the point of this thread.I believe 7870 looks pretty bad now as the 7950 looks a good deal for 399$ with 3 free games.

Deus is $30 + $15 DLC

Nexuiz is $9

Dirt 3 is still $50, but I have no idea what they'll charge for this new one.

Maybe $100 was a bit much, though I'd be surprised if you couldn't lower the total cost down to $400 selling the games... Guess I can't really speculate on that until we know what they'll cost when the offer is actually available, but it looks decent from a sell the games standpoint.

That might actually get some people waiting for GTX 680 stock to change their mind and pick up am AMD card.

I'd still buy a 680 over the 7970. I'm not loyal to any sides but i still feel the 680 is the better card for the money

The 7870 always looked bad. Look at lack of reviews at newegg and full stock, always. When you can get $239 cards that tie/beat it it's got problems.

Games just confuses the issue and makes me work. I want to buy a video card and play not ebay. I would pay $450 rather than $480 with 3 games.
