AMD Berlin APUs

My understanding is that there is no support for ECC RAM on the FM2+ socket planned until the Berlin APUs.

Is that correct?

And is there any time-table for Berlin other than "first half of 2014"?

Berlin will use the same 28 nm process technology as the Opteron x1150 and x2150. This chip will be available in the first half of 2014, and might experience some stiff competition from Haswell based Xeons.

What is the point of a core i3 Xeon? That's right, none. This is exactly what AMD is offering with Berlin. I wouldn't be surprised if they canceled or paper launched the product due to pure lack of demand.

many/most of the low end intel CPUs support ECC, even Pentium, so there doesn't really need to be a Xeon flavor

Intel does sell dual core Xeons actually. Avoton would be far better so I imagine they will get phased out soon enough.

Thought I'd give this a little bump to see if there is any serious news I had missed.

Is it still End-of-2014, but otherwise radio silence?

Last couple years we've seen AMD do January paper launches with real availability towards the middle of the year. So I'll bet on that.

I'm giving this another bump, mostly out of jealousy that the Carrizzo thread seems to be getting a lot of action, but I haven't seen hide nor tail of Berlin.

Any news here? Do we think this is vaporware at this point? The 2013-14 server roadmap had Warsaw AFTER Berlin, but Warsaw has been available since the summer (I think).

Berlin... Servers. Really, really funny.

Well we have not seen Carrizzo in the flesh either, just speculation.

True, but wasn't the paper launch for Kaveri January of last year? Berlin is supposed to be the same architecture, and we're coming in close to a full year with no hint of the product.
