AMD 6870 Adapter Question

I just purchased a HDTV and want to connect it to my 6870.

I currently have both DVI connections occupied with 2 desktop LCDs.
I plan on getting a mini-displayport to HDMI adapter for the HDTV.

Does the adapter have to be active, or will a regular one work?
Basically I want all 3 displays on at once (not eyefinity).

I didn't realize I had a HDMI connection on the 6870. I just assumed 2 DVI & 3 mDP.
Thanks for clearing that up. I'm all set now, as I have that active adapter already.

Fitting you would respond, seeing as I have a XFX 6870. 🙂
 
I am a tech support rep working for XFX. I have asked an admin to change my title and given him my xfxforce.com email to verify. We are trying to make the rounds.
