AMD 64 and Windows XP SP2

the question is,
Is it worth it to install SP2? I have virus protection, adaware, and firewall already. Any performance increase?

No, but it does include every critical update so far. I installed it on my P4 even though I have Norton AV, a hardware firewall, and don't use IE because of this. It does have a better wireless networking setup though.

Wow it shocks me how many people don't read anything before they comment. Let me clarify something here: The NX bit is doing its job. This software was coded to execute where the NX bit protects and SP2/AMD64 and probably Intel EMT64 processors do what they are designed to do, they cause the computer to shut down. So unless you are running this obscure software or anything else which is written to access NX protected memory then you will have no problems.

It's not an a64, but my laptop with a p4-m has been nothing but trouble since i installed sp2. I think i might take it back to the restore point.
