the same with the one in the review, they all use reference design 😀 aka HD 3850 design.

Another way to look at it, for the price as a single 4870, you can have 4850's in CF, assuming you already have a CF board and 4870's launch at $299. This is the best price/performance ratio I've ever seen... 🙂
 
Just got one for myself, 🙂

This has got to be the best deal in graphics that I can remember, ever. I couldn't believe it when I saw it in the AT forums yesterday, sure made my decision easy.
 
Good for AMD, 150 for a 4850 is a kickass deal. There's nothing else in that price range that can touch the 4850. I'm still shooting for a 4870 though.
 
THEY DID NOT HONOR AT THE STORE

WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED AFTER ENTERED BEST BUY.

1. I WENT TO THE COMPUTER DEPARTMENT AND GRABBED THE CARD.

2. ASKED THE MANAGER AND SAID OH THE PRICE IS ALREADY MARKED DOWN, BULL.

3. THIRD I ASKED ANOTHER MANAGER AND THIS GUY WAS ACTUALLY TRYING TO HELP ME, SO ALMOST GAVE ME THE DISCOUNT, AND HERE COMES THE DEMON IN A YELLOW SHIRT.
4. I HEARD WHAT HE SAID TO THE ONLY MANAGER WHO WAS ABOUT TO HONOR IT.

5. THIS IS WHAT HE SAID,"THE COST IS 179 SO TELL HIM IT IS ALREADY MARKED DOWN" HAHA. MAY BE NEXT TIME HE SHOULD WHISPER INSTEAD OF ASSUMING I AM STUPID AND I PROBABLY DON'T KNOW WHAT "AT COST" MEANS, I WORK AT FRYS THERE IS NO WAY ON EARTH THEY WOULD EVER DISHONOR A CUSTOMER LIKE THAT, IF I LIED TO A CUSTOMER THE MANAGER WOULD PROBABLY FIRE ME AND HERE WE HAVE THE MANAGERS LYING TO THE CUSTOMERS. OFCOURSE IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHICH STORE YOU GO TO, BUT I DON'T THINK I WOULD EVER SHOP AT BEST BUY AGAIN, SORRY.

AND THE STREET DATE IS ALREADY UP FOR BOTH HD 4850 AND HD 4870, AND THE 4870 IS NOT GOING TO IN ALL THE SHORT SUPPLY ANYWAYS, I CHECKED MY SYSTEM AND IT SAID WE WERE SUPPOSE TO RECIEVE 8 LAST WEEK BUT WE NEVER GOT THEM SO THEY ARE PROBABLY HELD THE SHIPMENT DUE TO ATI PUSHING IT TO JULY 8TH, HOW I KNOW THE STREET DATE IS ALREADY UP FOR THE 4870 BECAUSE I COULD ACTUALLY WAS ABLE TO ENTER IT IN TO OUR QUOTE SYSTEM AFTER SEARCHING FOR IT, IT ACTUALLY WON'T LET US SELL SOMETHING IF THE STREET DATE FOR THE ITEM IS NOT UP.

they straigt up lie to you on your face, just go online and look at the ad for your store, and their weekly ad, it said clearly 25% off all visiontek card and for them to almost do it, and then not sell it because they would have to sell it below cost and tell me that it is already marked off when clearly 199 was the regular price which he mentioned a few minutes earlier, lol.
 
When you go to their website and select "Weekly Ad" it asks for your zip code. I guess it's possible it might be for select regions, but I doubt it. The store I visited had them, computer pulled them up at $199, I pulled out the flyer:

A manager came over, didn't find anything in the system, I told her the card just came out and wasn't even up on their website. But the ad does say "All cards and tuners" with the exception of website only items.

Print the link, grab the flyer in the store, not much time left though..
 
Did the same thing as SteelSix at Curtner BB at San Jose, Ca. Rang up as 199 each, but showed the cashier the ad and he called over a Manager. Manager came in and did an override.
 
I grabbed 2 at one of the BB stores in San Antonio. Rang up as $199, dude had to get the manager to apply the discount, but i got em. $149 each
 
I just picked up one in Monroe, NC. Rang up $199, manager gave an override for 25% off, $160.11 out the door.

And yes, they had to pull it from the back of the store, there were none on the shelf (not even an SKU space for it yet). A helpful employee asked what I was looking for, checked the computer, saw inventory of four units and went and got me one.

First time I've been happy with BB in a loooong time.

the good news, however, is that they DID have an 8600gts 512 on sale for $274.99!!! I almost bought that one until I saw that it was 274.99 instead of 27.49...

Hi, I just picked up one of these at the roseville (sacto) store . It rang up 199 so I ran back and grabbed the shelf tag that said 149 . The girl at the register called for a overide and one minute later I was walking out a happy customer. This card is replacing my 3870 that I bought from BB for 129 a whole two weeks ago!!

Picked one up at Best Buy in Costa Mesa near the Mall. Didnt see any on the rack but noticed 2 in the island where they offer customer service. I asked the guy can i get one of those behind you....then showed him the ad. Had to get an override and that was it.
 
Got one in PHX at the newish happy valley location. I had to show them the discount in their flyer to get the reduced price, but did get it.
