Exactly, people saying "Books should never be banned" aren't getting the point. Amazon is a business and can choose to not sell whatever they want, and people want them to stop selling this item. Ridiculous how socialism gets brought up about people wanting a business to stop selling something.
I agree with this 100%. Banning books and a business refusing to sell questionable books are totally different things. I support Amazon's right to refuse to allow the book on their site. It's their business, it's their choice.
Banning books that we don't like becomes a very slippery slope...as I said earlier, at what point do you stop banning books? Pornography? Who makes the final decision as to what's porn and what's "art?" Political books are yet another area that can be offensive as hell to some people...Do you ban books that support the liberal cause? How about books that attack the cause you support?
Better, IMO, not to ban any book, but rather, to allow retailers to decide for themselves whether they want to sell the book...and, of course, don't buy the books you find offensive.
