So anything is fair game?

Books about raping paraplegics prvide more (slightly) value than censorship?

wow you just came up with something pretty fucked up....but im not going to ask the mods to censor it.

censoring the book really isnt going to do any good. people need to protect and educate their kids the same, whether this book is in print or not.

its surely in poor taste, and im a bit surprised a publisher bothered to even print it but hey...that was their call. im not going to be more or less worried about my kids based on the availability of this title.

Hmm. Guess I'm not of the enlightened mind that thinks any of this crap is zero valued and should be banned. Yeah, I know there's a slippery slope but I'm willing to live my life with concessions with the knowledge that my family is safe.

Report me, fine. I was making a point. I find it ironic you would suggest reporting me given this topic and the position you took regarding it...

The point is...banning such books won't make pedophiles disappear...the danger for your children still exists. Regardless of whether such garbage is printed or not, you still have to teach your children, and protect them when/where you can.

Absolutely

if anything else, it provides discussion.

:\

censorship is simply wrong. ...you should realize that censorship = legal/public enforcement of information control.

it is not the same as a publisher saying "Fuck No! I ain't gonna publish that! find someone else to work with you, you sick fuck!"

Books should never be banned, regardless of content. If you don't want to read it, don't buy it.

This. The freedom of speech and the freedom to hear or see anything ever made is much more important than the bullshit "safe" feeling parents think they need.

Having said all that, that book is fucking twisted and I hope Amazon pulls it in deference to their mom & pop operation.

Maybe you should fuck off then and go live in a fascist country.

You can still search for it, but even Amazon's links seem to be broken..

I checked my Facebook account and sure enough, this is a hot issue. :D

So you're saying that you might start digging kids if you read the book? I think a little self reflection's in order....

Yep you hit the nail on the head, guess no self reflection is needed, you fig it out for me. Guess there's no room for a civil discussion in here..

Absolute liberty = mayhem..

It's called laws and a society, welcome to the human race..

DPRK has "laws" and "society" also. We're on the fast track to emulating them with the Dept. of Domestic Espionage, and the Unpatriotic Act....

Ok, so then what about the socialist leaning this country has taken?

But banning books? That's wrong...

Socialism's no worse than unrestrained capitalism. The problem with this country is it's taken the worst attributes from both. That's neither here nor there though. Economic systems don't necessarily reflect social systems. Just because a hardcore communist state hasn't existed without being a dictatorship so far, that doesn't mean it isn't possible.
