LOL, in for an instant pot, from what I'm reading, they're good at cooking dried beans, have never been able to cook well with dried beans, soaked, boiled, etc, just didn't come anything like using canned beans.

Hoping the instant pot really does work well with them.

Literally thousands of items are marked down. I just go through my saved cart and wish list to see if any of them are marked with Prime Day (some do). Or simply search the item on Amazon. The item page will show if it's a Prime Day Deal.

If you don't know what you want/need, you could always just follow Slickdeals forum or the like, other people will point out when something good is up.

There is no search option on my desktop PC that doesn't search the whole site returning useless results (responsive design + low resolution?). I did find that I could search in the app but only after half the day is gone. The app is terrible in other ways: it doesn't just lose your place on a huge list, it also randomly adds/removes things from your watch list as you try to scroll (counts the single contact as a tap and a swipe)! It does it on the "upcoming" page AND on the watch list. Even though I was aware of the quirk I still lost things from my watchlist that I can't find again (no clue what it was).

Edit: GAH! It did it again! I got a notice that one of the deals was starting, got taken to the page, started scrolling past the deals that are counting down which don't have a button to accidentally tap, and as soon as one of the other deals came on the screen it disappeared and I got the message that something was removed from my watch list with no way to even know which. This is inexcusable.

Stuck at work trying to decide whether to buy Amazon Fire TV stick for $24.99 or not, deal is 76% claimed.

Only need it for Netflix and amazon prime, already have a Roku 4. I have no clue what k o d I is or if I need it. Also not sure if wifi will be an issue or if I want another remote. Decisions.

Kaido where are you????

You may not -need- it, but you want it. I highly recommend it. I had a Roku 3 in my living room, but bought a Fire Stick at Christmas for my bedroom. Ended up getting another one to replace the Roku. I find the stick easier to navigate and a bit faster (I'm on FiOS). The kodi crack is fast and easy to do assuming you have at least a LITTLE knowledge of computers. It also gives you ultimately anything you want to watch as long as can spend some time looking for it.

The trigger. Pull it.

FYI - Kaido is MIA. He's yet to answer my PM on protein powder yogurt pancakes in the IP! :awe:

We need a Kaido bat signal, something that encompasses Mac, home automation, kitchen gadgets, smoothies, fitness and wrapped with gluten free goodness.

Going to watch some YouTube reviews while I "work" ... the mouse is hovering over the order button. Must resist I don't need another streaming device.

I actually didn't buy a thing last year but this year, I've already purchased about ten things. Good deals for stuff I'm interested in this year.
I'm with you. Lots of board games this year too! I've picked up probably 10 things today too + the audible trial for the $10 credit and the $10 order through Alexa.

Rossmann, there's a thread in the gadgets forum, the general consensus is that the Fire TV stick was terrible.

Hard pass.

You're not not confusing him for PAB, right? ;)

As long as he sells them on Craigslist or eBay for a profit I'll let it slide.
Well... I guess he's got family things to deal with at night and can only answer PM's during working hours? This is completely unacceptable.

Yeah I can't find a compelling reason to order it, you can't just order shit without being able to justify the purchase. My TiVo and Roku 4 work just fine.

Thanks for the words of wisdom I think I'll pass unless Kaido magically appears in the next 30 mins to talk me out of it.

Right on the front page drop-down search that says All, the 2nd option is Prime Day. Search under that.

Didn't really see anything I needed or wanted. Only thing I did see were some Justin work boots that I bought last week for 153(164 after taxes) were on sale for 146. I went ahead and ordered them again with the 30% off on top of the 146 price. added in a 30 dollar aquarium heater to get over the 150 mark for the addition 30 dollars off visa deal. So basically I got the boots for 110 with a free heater after all was said and done. I just gotta return a pair of boots.

Now I'm definitely not ordering that POS, thanks for the warning and thread URL.

I don't like my Fire Stick. Slow. Kinda buggy.

The only reason it's popular is b/c people sideload KODI to organize their illegal torrent videos (can play any file type) or watch illegal, crap quality streams of HBO, etc.

Fire box pretty good, wouldn't touch the stick. Got Doom on PC and a copy of the minion movie for my big haul.

Ya. I bit on the Firebox ($50) just for the simple fact it's supposed to be much faster than the buggy Firestick I have in one of the bedrooms. IF it ain't appreciably faster, back it goes.

I also got the $30 Doom game, $100 Echo (fun device to stream background music in a bedroom--much better than FM radio), and a $20 Sandisk 128GB micro dongle stick.

umm...you don't want them to be anything like canned beans. That's the point of using dried beans--canned beans are junk. Most beans, especially black beans, should be a wee bit crunchy, not soggy and sloppy messes.

...anyway, I also got the instantpot. Been sitting in my cart for about 2 months now and couldn't pass on $50 off. :D

Not to cook beans though--that is way, way way too easy (seriously, just cover your beans in water, boil them and simmer for about 20 minutes, cover and take off heat to sit for 1 or more hours. Don't even need to soak overnight)

Now rice...that is something I have been known to screw up from time to time. Very sad....

Is it over yet? I am still a Prime virgin and I plan to keep my cherry for a while. :)

We need to have a list of things/items that y'all purchased today because of AZ Prime sale. I did not buy anything from AZ today.

Yes, it does great with everything from lentils to chickpeas. You can do some interesting things with stuff like refried beans too:

I just made a huge batch of hummus from dried chickpeas a couple days ago. Om nom nom

Nothing beats a rice cooker, the coolest thing is how they keep rice perfect for hours after cooked, makes timing of meals a lot simpler.

My beans turned out terrible, soaked and crock pot cooked after. Some would be cooked ok, some would be half cooked. We shall see :)

Want to make hummus too. Have a few recipes picked out, love new kitchen gadgets.

Bought a pasta maker too, camelcamelcamel said it was 50% off. Home made ravioli, here I come.

Local store just got a shipment of HDR televisions. Got stuck comparing them for hours. For the record, the 75" Sony X940D full-array LED HDR TV is the most amazing TV I have ever seen. RIP 2016 OLED HDR sets!
