It's a pretty nifty gadget, but you still have to plan your meals unless you have a well stocked fridge / pantry. I guess I use mine in place of the slow cooker more than anything else. Rather than needing 8 hours to cook something I can pretty much make the same recipe in a fraction of the time. Pot roast for example takes about 1.5 hours or so in the pressure cooker (including browning, adding stuff at different times, etc.) where it took 8 hours in the slow cooker. It isn't magic however. It still takes some planning if you want a one pot meal with rice or pasta for example. It isn't always as easy as "throw everything in the pot, hit go, have meal 10 minutes later".

1.5 hours for a pot roast? Wow. I also like how quick/easy it can handle stuff like frozen chicken breasts. My biggest peeve about freezing chicken breast is it becomes a pain to thaw and then cook. If I can throw them straight in this and have something in 30-40 minutes that's great.

Just bought one!

Paging Kaido for introductory IP recipes .... Kaido to the front, please! :cool:

I also agree with you. Thawing some thick chicken breasts is a PITA, especially if you forget to do it and then have to find other means of food when you planned on some chicken that night. You will love it.

Holy crap. I ended up ordering another IP for ~$15 after using my Visa Amazon points balance. During checkout, the free two-day shipping was noted for Thursday. I just got text & email confirmation saying it shipped and it will actually be here tomorrow?! For all you people hating on Prime, my love grows. Cheers. :beer;

If you knew what you wanted, why didn't you just search for it?

I actually didn't buy a thing last year but this year, I've already purchased about ten things. Good deals for stuff I'm interested in this year.

same here. I picked up a few 32GB Extreme SD cards on the cheap today. that's it so far.. luckily my tripod is treating me well.

haven't seen anything else that strikes my fancy. although I did spend a couple hundred bucks on Amazon over the weekend, so my shopping urge has been fed.

What's up with the $10 credit for $50 gift card deal? I added it to my cart several hours ago when the deal first started. I had clicked a button to "clip" the coupon or add the deal or something it didn't say anything about how much time I had to check out. I just checked out and it didn't say anything about it. I tried entering the code manually (GCPRIME16) and it says that it expired. Is it?

I thought one of you said that it was improved this year, but I don't see it.How the heck do I search Prime Day deals instead of browsing hundreds and hundreds of pages?!

Literally thousands of items are marked down. I just go through my saved cart and wish list to see if any of them are marked with Prime Day (some do). Or simply search the item on Amazon. The item page will show if it's a Prime Day Deal.

If you don't know what you want/need, you could always just follow Slickdeals forum or the like, other people will point out when something good is up.

Yeah, I dig what you're saying. I have that card too, have autopay set on it and some recurring charge, I think maybe my $8.25 monthly gym membership. Free, in a sense.

Don't know if Prime or Netflix is the better idea, I'm unknowing about streaming stuff. I get my movies and box sets 90% from my library, free. The rest, I wrangle off Amazon and ebay.

Yowza. Worse than junk mail?

Here's an idea, maybe it's already there, don't know. I keep a lot (A LOT!) of stuff in my Saved For Later list at Amazon. The prices day to day change on this stuff. Some times I really want to buy an item but think the price is steep at the time and I check on it later, seeing if the price dropped. There should be a site you can go to (here's maybe a commercial idea), where you can enter an Amazon (or other site!) purchase you are interested in and want an alert when the price drops to a level you are interested in. :cool:
I do that too, got tons there. I regularly get emails that Amazon has raised or lowered the price, but usually negligibly. I do wish we could enter price alerts, that would be awesome.
