Amazon one day shipping was actually two. What do you think?

Made an order 1:30 AM Saturday. Amazon said I had several hours (12 or so) left to make the order and have it delivered by Monday the 5th if I paid one-day shipping. I made the order and immediately the estimate was put to Tuesday the 6th. I will get them to refund the difference between one-day and two-day since they've failed their own metric (and I didn't pay the extra to get it in two days). Wondered if this is common.

What do you expect from ATOT, sympathy or advice on how to handle this?

Do you need your mom to tell you to wash behind the ears when you shower, or to bush your teeth before bed? Why do you need ATOT to tell you how to handle a common every day situation?

Something is off about this story. I've ordered on Friday w/ overnight shipping and it's always delivered on SATURDAY, not monday. They ship overnight on Friday with Saturday delivery via FedEx.

Well when i said Friday night it was actually 1:30 am on Saturday, but still "by Monday December 5th".

Newbs above, I wasn't looking for advice, merely to see if this is common with Amazon one-day. I paid one-day, expect one day. I'll get them to refund my shipping differential between one day and two day.

I hope you're not serious. If so... dense much? It's just not reasonable. This amounts to being an admitted dumbass.

I think he's being serious.

Admitting that you did not order by the time limit specified is... yeah.

Are you retarded or do you just play one online? Their site still said I had HOURS LEFT to get a MONDAY delivery when I placed the order. I have no idea how their facility works (neither do you). They said Monday when I placed order, but it never happened.

Doesn't matter. Complaining about it during the holiday season would make you an idiot.

As another privileged first-world person (for now), I think it's ridiculous to complain about this.

Sure, they estimated that it would arrive on Monday and there's reason to doubt that it will. I think a sane person would have been dubious of the original estimate and wouldn't be surprised at all by this.

So you know more about Amazon's shipping schedule than they do based on volume? I'm impressed.

Dubious, why? Amazon ships thousands of packages each day, they know exactly what they are doing--or so I thought. The estimate was Monday, so I paid a premium, and then immediately after receipt of order it went to Tuesday. I'm frankly surprised that an order could ever be made at 1:30 am on a Saturday and be delivered by Monday, but apparently it generally can be done, hence why Amazon says it can.

Anyway, apparently nobody here ever pays for one-day shipping and doesn't mind paying for what they didn't receive. I have no doubt Amazon will cover the diff, thanks for the lovely thoughts, y'all, carry on!

IMHO if an item ships late then it should be free. If you order an item on monday for delivery on tuesday, and they ship it a day late, so you don't get it until wednesday, then it should be free. The whole item should be free.

Actually if it is prime they won't. I recieved an item a day late from them using prime, paid for next day, but the item took 2 days. Amazon would not refund the difference. Saying there is no refund for any reason on prime next day shipping.
