Omap 4470.

I think he's trying to hit the Nexus 7 with the Tegra 3, but doenst make any sense because it doesn't look like this thing is gonna be in the same class.

Thank god i held off buying another Nexus 7. Hopefully the Fire HD is rootable/ROMable. Would love that sweet sweet jellybean on it.

Kind of odd how they're touting MIMO and 5ghz wifi as some new advancement.

Well most devices especially laptops have cut costs by not including 5ghz support or multiple antennae. Most laptops support "n" but just 2.4ghz "n". Cramming better wireless support in even smaller devices is a great move for providing a smoother feeling to some things like HD streaming.

They are touting it as a new advancement in the tablet space. Certainly the popular tablet space. I am not going to say absolutely that there does not exist some tablet in China or Korea that doesn't have 5GHz N and MIMO, but the iPad doesn't have it, and neither does the Nexus 7.

Damn, I should have sold my original Fire already. I want the 8.9" one.

The Fire HD 8.9" I think will be $299

WTF are they doing announcing tablets that won't ship for 2.5 months? That's terrible by modern standards.

Viper GTS
Like MS with the windows8 tablets?

Anyway, I was thinking I would wait for a full-fledged win8 tablet but this FireHD may change my mind. Plus, it would be more than adequate for 90% of what I use my laptop for.
