When I added an item to my cart, and then selected "FREE Super Saver Shipping" I had a huge highlighted message at the top of the screen that said "Thanks for choosing FREE Super Saver Shipping! Please note that your items will take an additional 3-5 days to ship. Need them faster? Choose one of our other shipping speeds."

They told you right up front, what's your problem?

Of the 20+ times I've ordered from them, I've never had any problems at all. Even with the slowest shipping option, I always recieve my stuff much earlier than it says I will, often before they say it will ship.

Amazon.com is an excellent company and I will continue to order from them. Sorry you had some bad luck.

Because they put a priority on serving those who PAY for the service. It seems pretty simple to me. (Kind of like how I do my job--search for threads about tipping people who deliver food for details.)

I love Amazon, and I dig the free shipping. I don't care if it takes a little longer, and I understand why it would. I don't expect top-notch service when I don't pay for it. If I really needed a book fast, I'd pick it up at a store.

In short, your rant sucks.

it's not like they lied. they gave you an estimated arrival date, and they'll stick to it. yeah, it sucks to wait around while they sit on their thumbs and don't ship it, but that's why it's free. if you need it faster, just pay for shipping.
