How do these compare to the Medion LCD's that Aldi's had on sale around Christmas time for $399?
The specs on the Medion are 500:1 CR, Max resolution of 1280x1024, Refresh Rate max of 75Hz. I am not sure what the ms is, I don't see that spec listed anywhere.
I have one these and it looks really nice, but it seems the prices of these LCD's are dropping fast now :)

I have a Cornea 18", and it is a nice monitor, no problems with gaming.
I got a 19" Cornea for a friend, and it has a really nice picture.

Windows looks great with a Radeon 9600 Pro analog connection. If you have a good video card, DVI isn't necessary.

So would this be equivilent to a 19" CRT ? in actual screen real estate?

No...I think its more comparable to an 18" CRT monitor (which doesn't exist)...but would have the same screen real estate...

I game and have this LCD. I think its a great monitor. I dont notice any ghosting at all.

I did turn on ClearType, it helps out with the text if you have a lighter backround.

Got mine last Friday...its AWESOME! No dead pixels, perfect condition, monitor doesn't get hot in the back (though the AC brick gets a bit warm.) About the focus issues some on Amazon.com are having--I googled around for a dead pixel test pattern that's basically a 1x1 black/white matrix repeating (very fine though)...loaded this pattern on the monitor, and by chance decided to hit the 'auto' button when this was displayed...focus was all of a sudden much sharper! Seems like there's some intelligence in this 'auto' function...the 'finer' the image being displayed, the more sharpness it gives you!

Played some high framerate games (well, with my video card the fastest fps I get at 1280x1024 is Counter-strike, 100fps) and there very little ghosting. Video from the TV tuner was a bit grainy, but a few filters from dScaler fixed that! DVD is superb. Eyestrain is gone. Definately get in on this if while the rebate's still on...I already sent my form in.

Got mine today, I love it. No dead pixels, games dont seem to ghost (tried the new cell shaded shooter demo XIII) I love it. Definately recommend to anyone.

Whats the link to that image you used for auto settings? Also whats your brightness/contrast set to?

Hmm looks like its now dead. 422$ is no good, considering I got it for 320$ 2-day shipped after rebate..it doesnt look like theyre offering a rebate at all. So much for "Back to school savings"...

This monitor is currently offered by Office Depot indicating that Amazon is out of stock. The rebate runs through 8/30. Amazon *may* restock between now and then.

Interestingly, when neurotrophik wrote that on Fri AM, I *immediately* went over and ordered one. I had planned on waiting till the last minute and buying one, but I thought that the deal would go away. Anyway, he wrote that and I checked Amazon and it was still $349 on my screen, so I bought. I got a message from Amazon today saying it shipped UPS.

What is interesting is that I was able to buy *after* someone had seen the new $422 price, and that it shipped immediately. Also, the rebate form is still out there on the amazon site if you still have the link.

Well those of you who did get in on the deal, how do you like it? I love mine, had zero dead pixels and the text quality is sharp. No complaints here, just took me a day to get used to the 'glow' lcd's have.

Anyone come across that image used for auto-configuring an lcd? I googled for that time at least an hour, couldnt find it.

Can somebody point me to a primer on what all the specs mean? I would like to purchase a lcd display, but don't know what all the specs mean and why I care about them. Thanks...:D

Rebate link is on the page as well. The 17" NESO LCD on special at Staples is cheaper (after coupon) but has a larger rebate ($80) and is a less well known brand so I think this is a pretty decent alternative.

Actually saw this over at TECHB@RGAINS first.

thx
