In Iceland there are 293.537 cell phones in use (today).
In Iceland there are 293.577 citizens (1st december 2004).

And for the record, I have two, one from work and one personal :)

That usage is pretty damn high. But you should note that MANY people have 2 cellphones, one for work and one for play.

You're from Iceland?

I grew up in "New Iceland" In the 1800's a bunch of people came from Iceland and settled around a town called Gimli here in Manitoba and had their own country until it got amalgamated into Canada.

for the uninformed, oversea-ers use period instead of commas to denote thousands/millions/etc, and commas to denote decimals

my family of four now has 3 and i would think we'll add a fourth when my eldest daughter starts driving in 3.5 years

Look at Belgum.. they said that the number of active cell phone accounts for that country is almost 3 times the population size... At least I think I remember it being Belgum.
