AM workouts = more weight loss than PM workouts?

It's been said to me in the past that if your primary goal with your fitness regimen is weight loss, then you should do your workouts in the morning because it increases your metabolism throughout the day, which in turn further fuels your weight loss.

Is there any truth in this at all? And if so, is it a universal certainty, or does it depend on the person?

Thanks.

It matters more that you actually work out. Just get your time in, period. Once you have established that you're sticking to the program, then experiment to see what works best for you. I've done it both ways and have seen no real difference other than I'm more hungry in the morning after I work out in the morning. Weight loss? No difference.

It's true that your metabolism increases hours after your exercise, depending on intensity and duration. However, this happens regardless of the time of day. There's only very specific circumstances where working out in the morning is beneficial.

For the most part it is true.
