Am in Chicago on business: Where to get the best pie?

Any pizza restaurant suggestions would be great. Actually, any kind of food suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

In all seriousness, I have never tried "real" Chicago style pizza (aka in Chicago). I would give them one chance if I was ever in the area. I do love a good chicago dog though...
 
Ha! You are where the real pizza is! Go to Pizzeria Uno! Best stuff in the world! Corner of Wabash and Ohio if i remember correctly.
 
My favorite place is called Pequods on Clybourn at Webster. Their pan pizza has a crust that is all black on the outside (looks burnt) but it's actually caramelized cheese. So ridiculously delicious. Other obvious choices would be Lou Malnatis, Geno's, and Giordanos. If you are near north > north side definitely go for the Pequods, otherwise you can google the locations of the other places to find a store local to you. Report back with your choice and how you liked it!
 
For thin crust / butter crust Pan, Gino's
For Pan or Stuffed, Nancy's
For "Yuppie" pizza (wheel-cut veggies, organic, blah blah blah) try Dion's (Clark Street) or myPi (the "Pi" is the Pi symbol).
For "unusual" but really good, CPOG - Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder South end of Clark Street, near where the St. Valentine's Day massacre occurred (across the street)

I'm also a big fan of Lou Malnotti's Pan Pizza (the sausage is a single wheel that covers the whole pie .. or you can ask for crumbled), their thin crust is OK too.

Others may suggest Home Run Inn pizza, but that's suburban / South side, not downtown

What kind of Pizzza are you used to ... since you asked for "Pie" I'm thinking you're East Coast ~ NYC / NJ ... we can get you something totally different or something similar, whatever your preference.

For alternate food (i.e., other than Pizza, downtown) Try The "Rock & Roll McDonalds, Carson's Ribs (awesome Pork Chops too), Greektown (several restaurants (Diana's or the Greek Isles are good), Bunches of Steak Places (Smith & Wollenski's, Morton's, Gibson's), Old Town has some good places .. Second City for comedy then Fireplace Inn for Ribs (or Vice Versa), Bob Chinn''s for (usually sea food .. but their steaks are great too), if you can get out to Wheeling, there's Restaurant Row...

Way South on Milwaukee near Central in Glenview?I think ... Cafe Lucci .. some of the finest Italian you'll ever consume, ever, in your whole life, anywhere ... a little pricey but worth every nickel and don't forget to try the Ices / gelattos .. I"m partial to the lemon.

Also there's Pete Millers (original is in Evanston... awesome place, killer steaks), Bob Chinn's, The BlackHawk, Tuscany ... (some chain places, like Bennahanna & the like)

I don't know how well it compares, but I tried one of those frozen Uno pizzas and I was completely unimpressed with pretty much everything about it.

Edit: Seems I'm a bit behind the times. The Midland is now the W Hotel. I have no idea if the pizza is any good anymore.

That sounds fantastic. I don't know when the next time I'll be in Chicago is, but I'll make that a must-do.
