there isn't really anything wrong with my current setup... but i'm kind of a mouse early adopter... i went and bought the optical mouseman the day it came out, and stepped up to an mx500 the day it came out... but i'm using the same dell keyboard (then again dell keyboards rock) that i've had for almost 5 years now. as far as i know the logitech keyboard isn't all that great, either. help me!

Note: My logitech keyboard was only $20, and I was thinking of getting a newer model that is only $5 on newegg... I would NEVER spend more than $30 for a keyboard or mouse.

no

i'm thinking of getting the mx3100 desktop

i'm not sure i like the keyboard. i have no use for all those extra buttons, so they just take up my limited keyboard tray space.

actually... the best thing ever would be one of those dell mini keyboards and a corded laser mouse, but logitech doesn't have a corded laser mouse...

Well, it will ...but they can't advertise that. Besides, why do you need a laser mouse so bad?

You know, one tiny hair can totally kill an optical mouse. Make sure to clean it often. Oh wait, that's why we upgraded from balls isn't it?

I would definitely consider getting that.
It has the keyboard from the lx700 (??) combo, plus the better mouse (mx1000?).
I have the mx duo keyboard/ mouse from logitech, it's amazing how much I use the volume knob on the keyboard to change volume in wimamp/ media player/ etc. the start/ stop/ pause/ skip track buttons are useful too. The programmable keys are useful for bringing up those irritating little programs like notepad or the calculator.
