I am a white guy and I kind of like PF Chang's. I wouldn't say it is great food, but it is good. My woman, though, is Chinese and she doesn't care for it too much. She doesn't say it is bad food, but just not good food either. However she does like how they offer brown rice instead of only white rice.

She was a wee bit miffed when we went to one in Pheonix (well Scotsdale. . . live in DFW though) and they had this giant canopy/tent type thing inside. One of those interior design motiffs to make it appear you are eating oustide in some garden instead of insome some building. Anyhow so they had all of these cables bolted in various places to support this canopy. It just so happens that one of these guidewires were anchored right into the side of a Quan Yin statue.
She thought it was so wild that some place that tried to pass itself off as a Chinese food establishment would do something so crass like put a bolt into the side of Quan Yin.
For those not familar with Quan Yin, it would be akin going to some restaurant and finding something bolted into the side of a statue of the Virgin Mary. It is just not something that you should do.

So she was so surprised that there was so little respect in that particular part of Chinese culture when dining at a place that passed itself off as a Chinese restaurant

I wouldn't be offended if you bolted something to a statue of the Virgin Mary.

except it had a bar, and the waiter offered to roll my mushu pork for me... which caught me completely off gaurd as I had him repeat it to me because I couldn't believe what I had just heard.

I get my pork rolled all the time.

It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

It seems a lot of orientals do not like Americanized Chinese food. I like Americanized Chinese food and PF Changs is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Any other orientals like PF Changs?

they don't give you that much food for the money

I'm Chinese...slightly amused at people calling themselves "oriental" still, but oh well...PF Changs has maybe 5 decent dishes, overall pretty poor.

What is so amusing about the term oriental? It is a accurate term to describe people of eastern Asia.

Ah, then I suppose I'm not Oriental. Or does it work for SE Asians?

i'm chinese, it's ok... too expensive for what you get though. their potstickers are good as far as restaurant potstickers go (nothing beats home)

the only good thing at PF Chang's is the lettuce wraps, everything else sucks. i'm oriental? asian? fvck it, i'm yellow!
