Am I the only one who's not crazy about music?

I like music a lot. That being said...I maybe listen to an hour a month. I am more into educational podcasts, comedy and spiritual listening.

Also; there had been no good music made in the past ten years. Now get off my lawn.

What is "good" music? I mean theres definately bad music...when it makes your ears bleed. But is there any music that can heal you? Ive been around a long time, don't think Ive ever run into good music.

There is no need to have music all the time. Just because people walk around with headphones doesn't mean they love music either.

less than 3GB of music here in well over 15 years of "collecting" stuff I actually like. My ipod in the car... I find myself skipping most of those songs too. Next... next... next...

When I was in my teens and twenties, music meant damned near everything. But then again, when you're young, everything is so immediate, so great, so painful, so necessary.

As one gets older, one finally matures emotionally and all the external stimuli that youngsters find necessary for life becomes much less than that.

With that being said, I still enjoy music a lot, just don't find myself living like I was 20.....having to have music playing every waking moment or living isn't worth anything. I like it around when I'm working, but when driving, I find myself driving without any music at all.....just the sound of the engine, tires, and my own thoughts. Sometimes I play music, sometimes sports radio, but more often than not, just quiet.

Never listened to classical music?

I have at least 70 in my collection, and included at least one in my list posted earlier...but my healing ability is already much higher than average humans, perhaps I have reached the max level? Though I havn't seen evidence of music healing anybody else either.

I find it odd that you cannot find a piece of classical music that moves you. 😕

I'm not a huge music fan myself, I don't mind it, I listen to it here and there, but I don't even know most of the artists these days, heck even older ones I don't really know. People ask me if I heard NN song, I can't know without actually hearing it.

Then again I'm the same way with movies, I don't really know any of the actors or who played in what or if a character's actor played in another movie etc... I don't pay enough attention to that stuff I guess.

I hear your OP. About the only time I listen to music is when I'm in the car. I used to listen to music when I worked while in school but now, I don't have a desire to listen most of the time.

me.

I don't have the "need" to listen to it. My exwife and daughter are diffrent. both have to listen or play music. my daughter knows how to play 3 instruments (pretty much self taught herself to play the organ (yeah we have a organ)).

I wish there was a music genre that had the beats of some of the better rap music but without the terribly violent and degrading lyrics.

I actually found some 'modern surf music' that isn't bad..

If I turn it up loud enough sure it will...but generally techno or music with lots of bass does a better job of moving things. Normally though I don't like music crazy loud, I already have damaged hearing from years of industrial work.

I too have a strong distaste for normal rap music...
Instrumental rap...add your own words if you care to.

And there's a good chance that you can find a specific rap song you like without the words, they're used frequently for practice, free style, rap battles etc.

each to his own I guess. I find classical music to be the best.

A couple years ago, my wife took a graduate course in music related to nursing care. There's a mountain of evidence about how music helps (or harms) patients.

For me music is like candy for my brain. Feels good man.

100% Agreed!

Have the headphones in all day while at work listening to Pandora or clips on YouTube when I feel the need to listen to something immediately.

Listen to my playlist on shuffle while at the gym

Listen in the car on the way to and home from work

And I am the juke box hereo at my bar with our group of friends.
