white trash will, out of the two, have the above ground. I don't believe I've seen white trash have an inground pool in all my years. that being said, like other here have said, above ground pools are okay if landscaped correctly.

ummmm. no.

above ground pools, and i'm not talking the blow up ones, don't have to look trashy at all.

of course decking around them helps the scenery even more.

Hahaha yeah they are the poor mans pool. But having an in ground pool from about aged 14 up I suggest dont bother with either. If you want to go in a pool head to the local public pool. That way you can mess up the place and piss in the pool without all the hassel and costs of cleaning it up.

I wouldnt buy a house with a pool unless they gave me the money to fill it with concrete and put sod over the top of it.

Considering this is ATOT, we all make at a minimum $100,000 so we can afford in ground pools.

Seriously though, in ground pools can be white trash too. I consider "white trash" to basically mean "completely neglected". If your in ground pool looks like a swamp, then that's white trash. More often that would happen with above ground pools because they don't cost as much as a new BMW.

That's what my parents-in-law did, but the pool had a crack in it anyway.

If by "white trash" you mean "fun"...yes! We've had an above ground pool since my oldest was a little guy. The current edition is in a nice enclosure with a bamboo fence and Tiki torches...little bit O' paradise off the back porch.

From the looks of the weather forcast, I'll be spending some serious pool time over the next week :D

The wife says I can't wear my jeans in the pool, and only one beer at a time though...

they may seem white trash but they are awesome. Especially when it is 110 degrees outside.

Also for fun, try getting a large group of people and swimming around and around and get a high speed vortex going. great fun.

I never cared for how they look but I love how they feel on a hot day. When your floating arounf in your floatie, drinking a cold beer, it's hard to tell the difference.

An old girlfriend had one. I built a deck around the house side of it. You could go from the pool to the hot tub from the deck. When you looked at the pool from the house, all you saw was the deck. It blocked the view of the pool.

I had the coolest pool on the street growing up as a kid. All my friends and the neighbors would come over and swim in it. It was so awesome until I accidentally poked a hole in it and all the air came out.

I actually believe the perception of above-ground vs. in-ground is a regional thing. Sure, in Florida, an above-ground might be white trash, but in NY, very few people have in-ground pools rather than above ground. I keep thinking about putting in an in-ground pool some year... just to see if I can do it.

We have an above ground pool with a raised deck and lots of landscaping around it. My daughter can swim daily and I dont have to leave the back yard. Even has a printed liner that looks like and ocean scene. We aint no white trash :)
