Hey Remobz,
Nobody says you have to be good at a game to play it, the getting good comes later after you practice a lot. I was in my 50's before I played my first fps game, by the way..you are only going to get SO good..but so what, there will always be some guys/gals that are better or worse players than you. My average is somewhere in the middle of the pack, that is good enough for me, because I am having fun, that's what counts.
My senior friends ask me what I do all day, My responce usually is: you mean when I am not taking a nap..well..I do my household chores with the wife helping, I fix stuff like computers for my family and others, I install equipment like garbage disposers, fix microwave ovens when appropriate, or go get another when necessary, do plumbing work around the house ( god I hate plumbing jobs ) & play computer games or just surf the web. They respond with: You play computer games like the kids, I say yep..you mess around with your cell phone and apps don't you ? want to talk about it ? That usually ends the conversation.
When it comes to the subject of watching tv or playing on-line computer games..the answer is simple, I choose to do what I want with the time I have available, I think most of you guys do the same. Us senior guys get an extra bonus from doing fps games tho, we can keep our hand eye coordination in top shape, gotta do it guys.

Turning 27 this year and most my IRL friends are putting the controllers down but I'm still going strong mostly MW3, GW2, D3, and NHL 13 when it drops.

32 here. While I still like to game, real life( 2 jobs, wife and kid) does a good job of limiting my time to about 10-15 hours a month.

I'm 38 and now it seems I don't give games priority anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love gaming when I have time and not disturbed.

Smells like Bengay and moth balls in here...

LOL

38 here. I keep thinking I'm getting too old for games but then something else piques my interest.

I used to follow bluesnews back in the day and watched all the new games coming out. Played all the ID games, loved them, they really set the bar high.

Now we have games with stupid titles. Sleeping dogs? Really? How is the name sleeping dogs going to want me to play a game?

Doom, Quake, stuff like that, sure, that sounds badass. World of Warcraft? Hell yeah!!! Total Annihilation, SURE, give it to me!!!

Racing games? Played one, you've played them all. BORING

Whats this Black Mesa Source? I understand it has something to do with Valve and halflife, but this week is the first I've heard of it. Their website doesn't even explain what it is. Is it an addon? A remake of the graphics? What exactly is it?

Red Orchestra? Sounds like a Commie musical game. No interest there. What is it even?

Sure sounds like I'm getting too old.

I remember my computer like it was 35 years ago. It was a Commodore with a teeny tiny keyboard and 8KB of RAM. I was awe-struck at the power of this beast. I managed to write a Star Trek game that was amazingly advanced with only 8KB of RAM. My tradition is to write a Star Trek game on every new computer I make.

42 here and still love playing (PC) games although I've stopped playing console games during the PS2 era. Having work and a family, I mostly play during weekends when the wife and kid are still asleep. I'd get up early and get my gaming in. Been into videogames since Pong on the atari. Will be playing until I can't play anymore haha!

LOL, the average gamer is maybe 32 and the average PC gamer 42. The idea that someone only 49 would ask if they were the oldest gamer here is laughable.

I'm 53.

Why is acceptable to watch TV at any age,but when it comes to gaming; OMG you are wasting your time.
30`s here.

I use that logic on wifey all the time.
You can sit idle, watch TV and go wow and ohhhh and nice.

Me, I am screaming into the mike telling my son more Dots More Dots...
Heal heal... Look out, here comes a yellow from behind...

Personal choice I guess.

In order of my "Rathers"
Sex
Game
"Putter" in the garage/house.
Ride (Motorcycles)
Sports (Golf, Bowl, Softball)
Hot tub.
TV.

54 here.

Hahahahahaha My logic too. Although no kids at home.
LOVE waking up on a Saturday at 6.... And game until 8.... Then wifey wakes up....

Tanks on the origianl Atari.... WOW.. I am old.

I got back into consoles 2 years ago when Red Dead came out. Caught my interest.... A Gritty earth western. Then with GEARS 3 pending release.
I bought 1 & 2, polished my skilz and played Multi with my 3 sons.
I DO resent Mircosquish charging for that... But it is what it is..
