As a former Forum Director here at AT, I'd like to clear some things up.

One, yes, members PM's have been read by at least some of the mods. They do not have access to your passwords, but a few at the top have permissions to reset your password, gaining themselves access to your account and your private messages.

Two, yes, this forum has gone to shit, ever since Perknose was given Forum Director status. He blatantly LIED as to my reasons for leaving my Forum Director post. He posted some crap about how I had new responsibilities I had to attend to, which was completely untrue.

I gave Anand my resignation because Perknose, basically, refused to quit acting like a douchebag. He was targeting and banning members with whom he had personal grievances, for very small nit-picky reasons. Any reason he could find would suffice, and result in some kind of vacation or permanent ban. I argued with him about his douchebaggery, I even unbanned certain members myself against his wishes. But he continued, and the hatred between several of the members and the moderators was so bed, I hated being in the middle of it. So I told Anand I had enough, and I told him why, and I quit. I barely even post here anymore.

Since all this has occurred, two of the best (by far) veteran admins have stepped down for the very same reason, sick and tired of Perknose's douchebaggery. Look, we all know that Perknose has bipolar disorder, and so for that we have to feel sorry for the old fart. But that isn't a license to act like a fucking douchebag, especially when so many members, mods, and admins tell you you're acting like a douchebag. He doesn't seem to care that he's acting like a douchebag, as it's pretty clear that even after a Forum Director (me) steps down, and a few admins step down, he continues to act like a fucking douchebag. The guy is batshit crazy and a total control freak.

The best thing Anand could do, and I dunno why he hasn't, for this forum and its membership, is tell Perknose to go fuck himself and take his douchebaggery and shove it up his bipolar asshole.

Seems obvious to me. It's similar to high ruling officials, say, members of a monarchy, using their powers to spy on and invade the privacy of oppressed minorities in said monarchy.

If that's in reference to me, I don't think there are any legal issues. My point was that if an issue were to come up, moderation could be the tipping point with regards to judgment. It's come up in copyright cases where content, or links to content get posted on a site, or forum.

I think all this is bullshit, me of anyone has probably one of the biggest targets on my back. While no one is totally impartial, I have been given a VERY fair treatment here. If Perknose has a beef with anyone I am sure it's well warranted.

I think people are just trying too hard to sniff Mosh's ass for brownie points. I like the chick, but some of you fucks are an embarrassment as men.

Based on the above I would never trust most of you with anything of responsibility or privacy.

To those that would an dxplanation of the PM issue, I will waste my cell phone power to explain what was said be Ben, without hostility.

PMs are not readily viewable by Moderators.
For a PM to be viewed, one has to log onto the account.
That requires a password.

IF a serious situation develops, a Senior Admin can change an account password to access the account and review PMs. This is only when the Forums are felt to be jepordized, most usually with respect to a problem , to determine fault or track a fraud/thief in FS/T.

Logs allow Moderators to determine who is viewing what forum at a given time.

When informed of the breach, the logs determined who accessed the breach.

From there, the accounts were checked to see what may have been disciminated. Why that decision was made was based on additional info reported to the Moderators.

I hope that clears up the use/acess of PMs and logs
