Ok, I am home from college for winter break, I don't go back until the 23rd. I am in the proccess of building a pc but don't yet have all the parts. Is it ok to install the power supply, hard drive, optical drive right now and leave it in until I go back?

I ask this because there are so many boxes I have and I just want to get the preccess going.

NO! Optical drives should never be installed before the motherboard. It can cause an ID ten T error.

It's a joke (note the sarcasm and "oh noes!" above). ID10T can be leetspeak for "idiot." :p It's fine just sitting in there like that.

Tech support gets more calls with this error than any other error ever, and you've never heard of it?
