Am I Safe?

Ok, I am home from college for winter break, I don't go back until the 23rd. I am in the proccess of building a pc but don't yet have all the parts. Is it ok to install the power supply, hard drive, optical drive right now and leave it in until I go back?

I ask this because there are so many boxes I have and I just want to get the preccess going.

NO! Optical drives should never be installed before the motherboard. It can cause an ID ten T error.

Oh noes! That error can melt the whole mobo!

how is it possible to install the drives if he doesn't have a mobo to connect them to?

It's a joke (note the sarcasm and "oh noes!" above). ID10T can be leetspeak for "idiot." 😛 It's fine just sitting in there like that.

wtf is that error? Anyway, lkm is right its just sitting in the bay not connected to anything.

Tech support gets more calls with this error than any other error ever, and you've never heard of it?
