Anyway, i've come to accept the fact that I just got scammed for $700 and $90 ebay fees & $20 paypal fees.

Never again. I'm closing my eBay and Paypal account. Fuck these assholes. If you're a seller, you always end up getting fucked by eBay/Paypal. Even if you get scammed by some nigerian from Sri Lanka, eBay & Paypal will side with these nigerians who doesn't even live in the United States before you. So therefore, it's great to be a nigerian scammer with the full protection of the US based company aiding you.

Finding that hidden option is like finding jesus
Hidden? It's on the first page every time you set up a sale.

You just failed to follow common sense and assumed everyone would be honest.

You also need to be proactive about your investment in the deal.

Although nothing is 100% fool proof I, and many others, have never had a problem.

Sorry about your problem but let's see how it plays out. :)

Ebay Rule #1: Don't sell internationally.

Ebay Rule #2: If breaking Ebay Rule #1, GET DELIVERY CONFIRMATION.

Delivery confirmation doesn't really count and is not offered internationally.

3 weeks is not a lot of time though, customs and other international BS can make even express 3-5 day shipments take over a month.

Aren't you Vietnamese ??
I still can't believe you of all people would actually send something to Sri Lanka.
I sent a small package(2 t-shirts) to Vietnam not too long ago and it never got there.
3 months later and the person got a notice from the PO that the package os there but it will cost ~$20 to pick it up.
I told that person to screw it cause the t-shirts was only $30.
The thing is in these 3rd world countries, alot of things are corrupt.
For all you know, someone handling the mail could have figured out what was inside and took it.
Its not like the US where mails are 99% safe.
I would never never never send anything valuable internationally, especially SRI LANKA.

Because fucking eBay doesn't prevent shitbags from 3rd world country from bidding. Even though in the auction it said i only ship in the US.

I found out after the fact that You have to manually go into ebay settings and ban people not in the US from bidding.

lmao...so you still shipped it to him anyway? you are a dumbass.

I've in this situation twice and because of that I only ship to international buyers if they agree to pay the $40 express shipping w/ insurance. Lots of people would argue that insurance is for the seller rather than the buyer but yeah, I justify that by just not selling if they do not agree to the terms.

I'm really sorry for your loss :(.

Ebay/Paypal will tell you to pound sand no matter what precautions you take if the buyer paid with stolen funds or they pulled a CC chargeback.

Paypal is willing to take fees but as soon as a problem occurs the seller often has to eat it all.
