Am I Being an Asshole? Racist? (The guy was black)

Yeah, talking to you guys makes me think that I did over react. I'll probably apologize to him next time I see him. I told him we had security cameras at the front of our subdivision right before he left. lol

Seriously, though. Plenty of people get DWIs.. EVEN WHITE PEOPLE!! He only asked about cops because YOU WERE SPEEDING. Re-read what you wrote, man and be honest with yourself. Plenty people are racist. Don't be embarassed ON THE INTERNET about it..

lol, yeah I did make it awkward. I really don't think I'm racist though but how broad some people use that word, I probably am. I'm not white though, it seems some people are assuming that but I'm not.

When I think about it, the other poster was right when he first said that it was a culture clash. I wouldn't have had a problem had he talked to someone in a business suit.

Why are you so angry? I'm not going to say my race because it'll make my race look bad since so many people seem to be worked up about how I felt today. I'll just say that I'm not any of the white races which include German, French, Spanish, European, or American born white. The media seems to believe that Spanish and white are the same thing(George Zimmerman), that's why I made sure to include that in there.
 
No, if by chance he is a bad guy that's basically telling him you challenge him. It's an even more idiotic thing to do if you don't actually have an alarm system.

If you are very worried about this sort of thing and don't have an alarm system I strongly recommend getting one.

Very worse case scenario he actually is a bad guy, and he uses that job in order to scope out potential homes for his buddies. But I really highly doubt that.

You want to sound bad ass, here's what you do, somehow spark up this conversation:

"yeah so the other day I was at Future Shop just looking at security cameras and DIY alarm systems, none of them are really great, and I have my own I made myself using arduinos and raspberry pi's. Did you know a 100 watt laser can cut through a rack of ribs in several seconds? It's pretty bad ass stuff to play with. But anyway so the sales guy comes up to me and starts upselling me on all this crap and I had to keep telling him I was just looking. I'm so glad your dealership's salesmen arn't like that. I really feel you guys treat me well and I appreciate the service."

Leave a good tip. A very good tip. Like, whatever cash you have in your wallet. :biggrin:

I would buy a gun immediately and keep it on me at all times. The moment you see him, fire a volley his way just to be safe.
