Being democratically elected doesnt automatically make you one of the good guys. Their inability to commit to stopping the violence and renoucing their intentions to wipe Israel off the face of the earth means nobody wants to deal with them.
They wanted the power, they have it, now they need to learn how to become effective leaders.
I dont think Israel has ever in the past required such a lavish plan to do what it wants. if it wanted the palastinians off the land tomorrow they would simply bulldoze the entire area and push the people off through force.
Sounds very much like the current US Administration and the whole Axis of Evil/Regime change rhetoric![]()
Except we dont send people into bus's full of children and have them self detonate, then make them into a national hero.
hamas is a terrorist organization and until they decide to grow out of that mold and into something productive, they will continue to get a cold shoulder from Israel and the world community.
No, we just dream up of more painful, creative things. We put sleeping bags around head and sit on their chests. Shoot unarmed people in the back of their heads; but hey, thats much, much better than blowing up buses?. How about Ms. Lyndie and company?![]()
There's an important difference between the actions of several derelicts (such as Ms. Lyndie and Co.) and what amounts to policy for Hamas or any other organization that encourages and REWARDS the suicide bombing of civilians. Lyndie got prison; a suicide bomber gets checks sent to his immediate family. Whatever mistakes the U.S. may make, there is no moral equivalence to be argued here. An exception does not make a rule.
