IE is the primary cause of crap on a PC.

If you must use an IE based browser, at least use Avant rather than IE.

I've tried them all but I keep going back to IE.

Because you haven't really tried Avant.

Avant?

Avantbrowser rox dude!!

Which version of Avant do you use? I tried the latest version 9 release-somenumber and I was really disappointed at how unstable it was. Also it somehow integrated itself into the OS I think - instead of there being an avant.exe process, now the Avant Browser process is iexplore.exe. I unistalled it and installed the previous version 8/212, and oddly enough the process is still iexplore.exe. But at least stability is back where it was before I installed version 9.
I also installed Firefox and I like it alot (so much that I made it the default browser).. only complaint some pages are not coming up as perfect as they do in Internet Explorer (and Avant for that matter since it's only a shell 😉 ).

firefox is better than ie. it doesnt render a few IE specific pages right though.

but yeah thats what IE is for.

case in point. at my current job, i ihave win 98 on my desktop

it blows and locks up which is what win98 tends to be and do.
so i used to hardl ock in IE6 sometimes, and tried firefox .8. it never locks up.

other alternative browsers include opera , mozilla (the non firefox one) etc. i used to use opera 3.51 back in the day, dont know how it is now though.

One problem with Opera. I wish you could put the address bar alongside the buttons, instead of below.

EXACTLY! Opera doesn't allow moving around of bar in order to increase browsing real estate like Explorer or Firefox.
