Opera, no contest.

Opera without ads, no contest at all. 😀

Opera without ads with IE6XP Native skin, no contest at all and feels just like home with all the added goodness 🙂

It's between Opera and Firefox.

Opera 7.23 is good, better than Fire* .6 and .7

However, Firefox .8 is looking pretty nice, especially with the tabbrowser extensions. I checked out the current beta version of Opera, 7.50 something or other, and it's a piece of sh!t. So I am trying to transition to Firefox, I think it is headed in a better direction.

The only Opera feature I'm really going to miss is their numpad shortcut keys: The +/- keys zoom in and out (images and flash included, not just text), and numpad 1 and 2 cycle between tabs (whereas on Firefox you have to press Ctrl+Tab, and Ctrl+Shift+Tab.. ugh). Also on Opera you can click and drag an image on a website just a little bit and when you let go of the mouse, it loads that image by itself.

So, erm, right now Opera is the best pr0n browser and Firefox is better for just about everything else.

Why does opera get no love? Its by far the best browser. You wouldnt realize how slow your regular browsers are until you use it.

Firebird was SLOW. SLOOOOOOOW. And buggy.

Mainly because opera has ads and looks bad well at least when I used it a little.

I honestly did not even remember opera had ads until you reminded me. Theyre up in the corner and dont get in the way at all. For what its worth I havent seen a popup ad in months.

you must never look at the top 1/3 of the screen like the rest of us do.

IE was too buggy, so i switched to Opera. I fell in love with it at first, and when i use non-opera machines, i realize how spoiled it's made me. I tried FireFox just to see what the hype was, and i have no desire to switch from Opera.

Firefox really doesn't start to shine untill you load it with extensions. It's a pain, but seems to be a common theme among open source software. The best list of "recommended extensions" I've found is here: http://www.cae.wisc.edu/~badri/firefox/ . If someone knows of a better one (not more thorough, but better in that the extentions are more useful) please let me know.

That said, even with extentions transitioning from Opera is not as smooth as it could be. You have to use both for awhile (for example, use one browser to load all your news bookmarks and the other for forums). Eventually firefox will start to grow on you.

Does anyone else agree with me that Opera 7.50 previews 1,2,3 are all terrible?

Oh and one more thing... Firefox's stability is to Opera's as Opera's is to IE's. In other words, it's solid as a rock.

Most modern commercial websites are built to work with IE first and foremost. IE won the browser war.

Yeah non of the unrequested pops seem to work in mozilla.

Opera all the way, Mozilla variants are a good alternative as well.

FireBird 0.7+ series seemed to be the best... I am using the standard 0.8 Release (FireFox) but its seems a touch buggy.

Mozilla 1.6 is nice.
Netscape 7.2x was kinda slow
Opera has always been fast but I hate the ad's and I just cant get into the interface... although I wish I could.

I only use IE when I "have to" which thankfully is getting to be less and less....

MAC Safari BTW is one smooth browser. 🙂
