She expected to wield the power granted to her by her husband, the president. When he said "go ahead & work on this (insert issue here) & tell me what you can come up with" she did just that. He delegated executive prerogatives to her.
Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses not some farcical spousal ceremony. I mean if i went around saying I was a health care expert just become some horny president threw an assignment at me to keep me occupied while he screwed the interns, they'd put me away

Private email server??

Benghazi??

$600k from speaking engagements??

Come on, show me something.

Yes but in her defense, she behaves like an adult and can handle the pressure of the job... Trump cant. Game over.

- Honestly, Kasich sounds really good to me right now.

What are you talking about? Presidents appoint "czars" and the like all the time to head what ever cause or issue they are interested in.

Cruz was worse than Trump imo. Anyway, several Republicans have started defecting. It will be interesting to see what happens if Trump loses in a close race and the likely backlash. The Republican Party is so screwed. I just hope Hillary doesn't get us into any wars (especially those that don't have anything to do with our nation's interests) or tank our economy with her proposed $1T in tax increases. God help us.

Look you low-life weasel...I never said that Politifact was the end-all and be-all unquestionable authority on all issues political and when I disagreed with that particular analysis you quoted, I specifically said why. I don't know why you feel so compelled to troll me at every opportunity, but your incessant butthurt and trolling is getting damn old. Please fuck off and take your insecurity and unresolved psychological issues with you.

You accused them of a lack of objectivity when you disagreed with them and then uncritically linked to them when you agreed with them. I found it amusing how your evaluation of their bias disappeared instantly upon them agreeing with you. ;) I mean surely you can see how that would be the case, right?

You can insult me all you want for pointing out how you're constantly denigrating other people's character and supposed bias while displaying poor character and obvious bias yourself. As usual, you lash out when confronted with this uncomfortable fact. Letting you know the truth about your own hypocrisy isn't trolling you, it's just the truth.

They are a funny group. So damn intolerant, they cant even tolerate themselves.

It reminds me of an old dog that angrily bites its own leg, because it isnt smart enough to determine what the real issue is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O15DXv3Vwg

You've been listening to too much Monty Python, or more likely just flippantly parodying the "Constitutional Peasant" bit.

This thread reminds me of The Neverending Story too long to quote here so this one somewhat satisfies my impressions instead:

"There was once a stone cutter who was dissatisfied with himself and with his position in life.
One day he passed a wealthy merchant's house. Through the open gateway, he saw many fine possessions and important visitors. "How powerful that merchant must be!" thought the stone cutter. He became very envious and wished that he could be like the merchant.

To his great surprise, he suddenly became the merchant, enjoying more luxuries and power than he had ever imagined, but envied and detested by those less wealthy than himself. Soon a high official passed by, carried in a sedan chair, accompanied by attendants and escorted by soldiers beating gongs. Everyone, no matter how wealthy, had to bow low before the procession. "How powerful that official is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be a high official!"

Then he became the high official, carried everywhere in his embroidered sedan chair, feared and hated by the people all around. It was a hot summer day, so the official felt very uncomfortable in the sticky sedan chair. He looked up at the sun. It shone proudly in the sky, unaffected by his presence. "How powerful the sun is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be the sun!"

Then he became the sun, shining fiercely down on everyone, scorching the fields, cursed by the farmers and laborers. But a huge black cloud moved between him and the earth, so that his light could no longer shine on everything below. "How powerful that storm cloud is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be a cloud!"

Then he became the cloud, flooding the fields and villages, shouted at by everyone. But soon he found that he was being pushed away by some great force, and realized that it was the wind. "How powerful it is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be the wind!"

Then he became the wind, blowing tiles off the roofs of houses, uprooting trees, feared and hated by all below him. But after a while, he ran up against something that would not move, no matter how forcefully he blew against it - a huge, towering rock. "How powerful that rock is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be a rock!"

Then he became the rock, more powerful than anything else on earth. But as he stood there, he heard the sound of a hammer pounding a chisel into the hard surface, and felt himself being changed. "What could be more powerful than I, the rock?" he thought.

He looked down and saw far below him the figure of a stone cutter."

The political struggle taking place out there is the struggle of a war within, the loss of our sacred oneness and the unconscious assumptions we were forced to substitute for it, but the war is won only by surrender. The struggle against the machine IS the machine.

There is only love and forgetfulness.

Lack of tolerance has to be in any subjective analysis of todays republican party.

It has to be in any objective analysis as well. That doesn't mean that all Repubs are intolerant. It just means that we're all judged by the company we keep.

No problem! In return, maybe reconsider how you respond to some people on here.

I see them more as highly fragmented with poor leadership.

Which explains Stronger together & Yes we can, right?

Meanwhile, the Repub party is coming apart at the seams. The base went nuts over a demagogue charlatan, the Fundies back Cruz & the leadership is still selling trickle down economics & every wedge issue they can. The greatest fear of Repub politicians is be primaried out by activist teatards & they try hard not to associate themselves with their presidential candidate at the same time.

And you have the blind insouciance to say that Dems are fragmented with poor leadership.

That kind of compartmentalization & denial will drive you nuts.

Of course... Many reps are normal sane people that just want to be fiscally responsible and therefore cant vote democratic... They are the ones shaking thier heads at the rest of the party saying "WTF are you doing"?
