i want to do this deal online, but can't find any info on the rebate for the mgi photosuite software. is it in the box? staples.com doesn't mention anything about a rebate for this on the item's page or in the rebate section. oh, if you order online and spend more than $100 get the free b+w tv! jumpondeals mentions it.

I got in on this deal last weekend for $15 total after MIR. The Visioneer 4400 scanner makes better copies than my other scanner the Acer 320U USB. Really good deal for a normally $80 scanner.

Staples sent me a card refusing my $30 rebate on the 4400 scanner. Reason was "Limit on Rebate" which translates to too many rebates per household. This is the only Visioneer scanner I ever bought. So it looks like my two $30 rebates turned into one. Anyone else getting both?

I have a problem. Got this scanner, but it seems not to be working for me. I plugged it into an outlet, I plugged it into a USB port, I installed the software, but the computer does not see it? I did not find find any button to turn it on. Am I doing something wrong or is my scanner dead??? LMK.

Which version of Windows are you running? I think it need 98/2000/ME at least. If you do have one of those, try rebooting. If your computer still does not detect it, 1) your USB port may be bad or 2) the scanner is dead. If you have another USB peripheral, attach it to the port and see if it works. If it doesn't you know your problem. If it does give Visoneer a call.

Just installed mine last night.

Did you
1) Install the software first
2) then plug in the scanner in the USB port
3) then plug the scanner into the wall outlet

There are no current software / driver updates for this scanner, so if that doesn't work, you probably have to call tech support or get a new scanner.

I installed the software when the scanner was already connected. That CAN'T be it, right? If so, that's fvcked up! The port I plug it into is fine, my webcam used to occupy its place...
