Got a question for you all out there: I'm in the first spot in the waiver priority list, but do you think it's worth using it to pick up Sproles or John Carlson? I could stand to use another good RB, but I realize that Sprole's output depends entirely on LT's health. Also, my TEs are pretty weak, and Carlson looks to be a big option on that Seattle team.

Your thoughts?

Thanks!

Cutler is having a great season, against crappy teams, and he's against the Saints who aren't known for their pass defense and not showing any signs of improving this year.
Jags are good against the pass but Manning has a history of dominating them. I don' t know if his cranky knee would hold up.
Cutler. The Saints Pass-D is terrible. Couple that with the good Saints offense and it's a potential shootout.

pick up Sproles first. Or if you're in need of a running back Ahmad Bradshaw, Michael Bush (fargas out & mcfadden has turf toe), or Brandon Jackson (Ryan Grant's hamstring issue won't go away). If any of them are available.

Even if Carlson gets picked up I think there should be plenty of serviceable TE's on the wire.

Tough choices, I'd go with DeSean Jackson. Dallas is weak with the deep ball, thats where DeSean shines. For some reason Roy Williams can never cover that. Oakland isn't THAT bad, at least not defensively. Denver is just really good. Oakland has two of the better corners in the league, Eddie Royal made them look dumb... but Eddie Royal is a talent and Cutler is on the verge of becoming a great QB. K.C. won't have as much success. Devery Henderson isn't even a consideration for me. Saints will look to Bush or Shockey or someone else. Henderson is a career backup.

Thanks for the advice Cuda. Just waiting to see results for Jackson tonight. Bowe would have gotten me 9 points this week but at least I know I have a solid guy 3rd WR on the bench if need be.

Hoping that the Dallas K can't out score both Romo and Jackson by 6 tonight or I will lose ;)

Of course my Rb tandem of Tomlinson and Turner really carried me :frown:. Thankfully Holt actually had a respectable week unlike his zero point week 1. That, and my opponent had Ocho Cinco and Houshmandzadeh (autodrafted).

I called exactly what DeSean was going to do, deep ball touchdown big game... except I didn't account for him dropping the ball ! :( He would have scored 17 points, instead just got 11. In either case he still outscored Bowe, so I'll take credit for that good prediction!

/me pats self on back.

Cutler is a star. He has been a star for awhile. He's got all the talent in the world and a lot of people recognized how good he could be last year. The diabetes and losing weight/strength really hurt him last year. He's not a fluke, this guy is the next big QB in the NFL. He won't put up 4 TD's every week, but you can probably count on 200 yards and 2 TD's minimum.

So yahoo only allows 4 teams. What other sites do you guys use for public leagues? I checked out NFL.com and it looked ok I guess.

Just sign up a new Yahoo account and use that to sign up 4 more teams. I also use ESPN.com. Not sure if they have a team limit there, but they have alot of features (divisions, sun-tue waivers, live scoring, etc.) that are only available in Yahoo Plus leagues.

I use cbssportsline.com and foxsports.com The fox league is horrible, but I really like cbs league a lot. This is my 2nd season on there in addition to the yahoo league and I'd have to say I like cbs better.

Was Sproles dropped? If not, picking him up shouldn't use your waiver priority.

Having said that - I would pick him up to see if LT's injury is serious.

That's great, but I don't see the Lions running a lot since their defense seems to be pretty bad leaving them constantly behind. It remains to be seen whether or not this is a good pickup.

It's a gamble. I took a lot of chances in this years draft..

I picked up Javon Walker, McFadden, and Ricky Williams

Of them, only McFadden is proving to be a wise decision

I hope Benson doesnt let me down; I doubt they'll start him though

SHould I start Scheffler ot Witten?
Witten is a better, I think, but Scheffler is going against the Browns.....

I'd never bench Witten personally, no matter the match up. He played against a very good Eagles D and put up great numbers.

yea, you can never bench witten. I have Moss on one of my teams, and although he only scored me 2 points last week, he's a must start every week.

I really don't think it's Williams (this time at least :D). His QB doesn't have a good arm, or good receivers or a good line. Because of this opposing defenses can largely single cover the receivers leaving Safeties, Line Backers and linemen to cover the run and/or blitz.

It doesn't add up to a very good season for anyone on Miami.

It sucks doesn't it? I have Moss as well and he got me the least points of all my players last week.

LOL. Yahoo didn't count the fumble return for a TD in the Seattle game because it probably couldn't read it from the fumbles (Gore fumbled first, then SEA Def picked it up and fumbled that, and another SEA def picked it up for the TD). This was corrected and that was enough to allow me to win Week 2. My opponent changed his Team Name to I QUIT.

Are you surprised? Cassel has yet to show his arm (if he does have one). You'd think he would build off that TD to Moss in game 1, but its like he didn't even bother.

True...True...the oline is kind of ummm...not there. I am surprised Pennington has time to throw.

Not surprised, but it still sucks. I wasted a 1st round pick on him.
