I proved beyond a doubt that my QX4 is completely different than a Pathfinder in another thread. Anyone who said my car is just a Nissan didn't have much to say after I proved photo evidence. QX4 blows the Pathfinder away.

O RLY? Is that all I said? I also remember saying something about not living up to the sophistication of the Lexus brand. Since you're from Jersey, well that must explain it.

We got the biggest balls of em all.

I like Lexuses... the ES300 my parents got is alot nicer than the Camry they had, and looks nicer too. Haven't had any problems with reliability either

I don't get it. I too can afford this car and even better models, but I would never get one. To me they are slow unexciting front wheel drive cars. These cars are for people with enough money who don't know a piston from a shoehorn. Dealerships make good money off of these because you don't pay a premium for the car, you pay a premium on the brand image. That's a waste of money.

See Eghck's post douche bag. The only people who bash Lexues are those who cannot afford them or those who do not live up to the sophistication portrayed by Lexus.

so...what other say about you are true. you are a dick. cant have an arguement w/o name calling?

You have no clue do you......
I saw the thread and I can honestly say that 99% of the parts are the same. Just a noth higher quality of the interior.
Infinity is still a Nissan brand - I don't care which way you are trying to angle it. Just deal with the fact.

still an upscale Camry

Congrats, dumbest post of the day.

Actually hes right, if its anything like the last ES its just an upscale Camry ie leather seats, Xenon + Nav = lexus.

He's right, but hte Camry kicks so much @$$, while he is trying to denounce the ES, he's quite right and really applauding the car...

Have you ever owned a Lexus?

nope, just two infiniti's and a 750k house. I can certainly afford a lexus es if i wanted it , but why would I spend so much $$ on an overpriced camry. I'd rather spend it on an overpriced nissan.

What does a $750k house have to do with anything?😕

750k house means SHACK where I live. What am I supposed to say then? $2.5 million house?

I would agree, if Lexus's didnt have such high quality interiors. My family has 3 Lexus's, 1 Acura, and I used to work at Infiniti.

Lexus's have higher quality interiors. Anyone that denies that... well whatever
My acura is more fun to drive and has more character than any of the lexus's
Infiniti's interiors (as of 03 or 04) were complete crap compared to their counterparts, but obviously they made up for it in design and sport.

The only thing similar when it comes to these three brands are that they are Japanese and they are similarily priced. My mom wanted a new car. I told her to get the Lexus. If i wanted a new car, I wouldn't of gotten a lexus

Of course, with the new IS, some things have changed. And I've heard that infiniti's interiors are improving somewhat. I absolutely love the design of the new TL and they have nice interiors, but I think of Acura as basically a cross between sporty infiniti's and luxury lexus's.

This dude has only been around since Sept of '05, racked up 2400+ posts and I've already ranked him one of the most annoying members at Anandtech. 2200 of those posts are most likely him parroting the same crap.

Any Acura, BMW, Infiniti, Audi, (name your favorite), has more personality then a Lexus.

Acura can't even touch Lexus. Infiniti is close behind but still not there yet. It's a back and forth argument with BMW and MB. They give a better driving experience but Lexus has the quality and reliablity. Audi's lower models are way underpowered. Their reliablity is iffy as well.

I agree Acura can't touch Lexus on the luxury front, but as a FWD people hauler, the TL looks and likely drives better than the ES. But the ES is likely smoother and quieter- perfect for people to whom driving is simply an inconvenience to get from point A to point B.

However, IMO Lexus interiors are getting boring- they're incredibly well put together and feel great, but are essential minor upgrades from the mid 90s. It's a perfect appliance, but nothing that brings out any sort of emotion or attachment or WOW.

You ever heard of the IS350?

Over at The Car Lounge, one of the most overly flagrant and boastful BMW owners/praises would constantly sing the praises of BMW. Lexus smexish. He never gave the time of day and claimed the superiority of BMW. This has been going on for YEARS. And then what does he do? He BUYS AN IS350!!! :Q

The IS350 is a great car (have your driven one yet BTW?)- but a people hauler it is defintely not. The rear seat room in the IS, especially with anyone of decent height in the front, is plain tight and oddly uncomfortable (seat design maybe?).

The ES and TL are more direct competitors IMO- both can carry 5 alright, FWD, and have similar prices. Both are in the low 30s well optioned, mid-30s maxed out, while the IS350 starts in the mid-30s and maxes out in the low 40s.

The problem is that the TL must be all things to all people. Toyota simply has the resources to split the segment in half with the ES handling the people hauler duty and the IS taking ver the sporty role. The TL splits the two right down the middle, but is not a better handler/performer than the IS or a quiet/comfy/put you to sleep long hauler like the ES.

Me personally, if I were going for a sporty handler, I'd go straight for the IS. I could are less about the people in the back seat. I can fit in the back of my 3s Hatch just fine, so the IS shouldn't be THAT bad.

I own an Infiniti and I used to own a Lexus, so don't tell me that a Lexus is the same as a Camry. The more time you spend in a Lexus, the more you begin realize how superior quality of a car it is and it is nothing like a Toyota.

I agree. I've owned a Lexus GS300, BMW 325i and currently have an Infiniti and an Acura and none of those cars come close to the quality of the GS300. The Lexus was definitely better built and engineered than the other three. The longer you drive one, the more you come to appreciate all the little things about the car that they thought of like the feel of the blinker switch or the gear-like resistance of the accelerator.

Toyotas are solidly built cars but they do not have the touches that a Lexus has and that is why they charge a premium for them.
