When people ask me what I want for Christmas this year, I really can't give them an answer. There is nothing that I am lacking for that I can't pick up myself if I feel I need it. I still fully intend on getting many presents for everyone I usually do, fam, etc., but all they do is get pissed off. I'm not trying to be elusive, there really is just nothing that I really want or need.

Is my answer/response fine?

Nothing wrong with your response and I think the majority of adults feel the exact same way. Oh, there are a few things I'd like, but a second home on Kauai is beyond the means of any of the crowd I run with. Christmas presents are for kids.
 
I feel the same way. I don't need or want any more stuff. I tell people to make a contribution to our local food bank instead.
