Abby Phillip’s show at 10p. They were discussing the MSG Trump rally and the racism emanating from it. Mehdi Hassan who is a smart guy I respect was a guest. One of the conservatives who is a regular and excuse maker for Trump when Medhi mentioned he supports the Palestinians, the conservative said “I hope your beeper doesn’t go off. He basically quipped Medhi should be blown up because he is Palestinian supporter. This right winger was the epitome of all the racist hate coming from the right. The shouting then ensued.

They went to commercial and after Abby apologized to viewers for what they witnessed. They removed the right wing troll. But to pile on the unfairness they also removed Medhi and he was the one attacked. He should have been allowed to stay. CNN basically both sides the fight when the conservative was at fault.

When the clip becomes available I will post. If someone finds it first please put it up

I am guessing Scott Jennings was the right's commentator.

Seriously they should have apologized to viewers and then also apologized to Mehdi on air. Unbelievable.

We have a real problem in this country. It doesn't derive from a "what-about-ism" view of equivalent opinions or assumption that "everybody does it." That's part of the problem.

I really don't want my brother to see this post before Thanksgiving -- or for that matter, at any time. He'll become belligerent and stubborn. But I've known him from when he was just a "little shaver". If it were only a matter of attitude, he chooses not to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. He doesn't do his homework. He has distilled his political choices into a simple ideological commitment "against socialism" -- where every collective effort to make public goods serve problem solving falls under the "creeping socialism" argument. I've tried to tell him -- if he wants to apply the "S" word - then fine -- it's a "tool-box".

He was supporting Trump since as early as 2015. Two weeks ago, he tried to assert that Trump "had gone to Harvard."

He gets all his information from the filtered media of FOX and friends. FOX is not presenting the facts, for instance, of VP Harris' s remarks except to pick a few choice moments to spin minutes or hours of their opinion. I rather doubt they've given much time to the remarks of Generals Mattis, Milley and Kelly. You'd have to research FOX broadcast history, but I doubt they've given any exposure to the consortium of psychologists and psychiatrists warning of Trump's sociopathic and narcissistic disorders.

FOX advocate-viewers are living in a filtered Right-wing echo-chamber, and they choose to be low-information voters.

Anyone with common-sense could see that 94 felony indictments across four or five jurisdictions isn't some Democratic plot of persecution. But they see everything as impossible, implausible conspiracies.

If they all did their homework -- first -- to determine which media outlet is lying and deceiving, and which aren't; if they examined the broader set of facts as opposed to the selective "alternative facts" in their echo-chamber, the point spread between Harris and Trump would comfortably widen. This would be called "Common Sense".

After pointing out to Trumpist associates I've known since high-school, the many examples of FOX's deliberate deceptions, I'd asked them to find any such equivalent examples among other media, such as CNN, MSNBC, PBS and the rest. They would ;never respond with even a suggestion. They never responded. They were silent. But they cling to their FOX teething-ring binky.

You can't be "Great Again" by feeding your grievance tantrums and supporting a Fascist and Criminal. It's just that simple. As for the so-called "fence-sitters" whining about inflation (which has attenuated nicely) and other worries, they need to realize that there is an army of professionals who've been keeping things stable through all previous administrations before Trump. Some of them are called "civil servants", but responsible elected candidates choose their experts wisely for their scholarship and experience. Certainly not Larry Kudlow or Maria Bartiromo. The only professionals in Trump's entourage have come and gone -- or merely been fired.

We're on a precipice here. The anxiety I feel is enough to shorten my life.

I genuinely do not understand why Americans watch this shit (by that I mean, any and all news channels and that goes orders of magnitude for any of these argumentative waste of time bullshit shows). This is very similar to how Fox News rotted the brains of its viewers. And no, I'm not saying CNN and the supposedly "liberal" ones are doing that but to the liberal side, they're doing it to the conservative side. This is exactly why I say America gets the politics it deserves, because people are unwilling to do anything even as meaningful as no longer watching this shit. And then people have sat by being passive observers wondering how we ended up where we are. Its obvious if you looked.

This should be cause enough for people to stop watching CNN, but they/you won't. Instead you'll just post outraged by it on XTwitter and then wonder why our political discourse is where it is.

No idea who Girdusky is, but that was an epic line. I was laughing before I even watched the clip.

Let the righteous indignation flow!

All cable news lacks any depth and has for at least 20 years. It is just shitty entertainment, not news

Wishing death on people that have a different opinion than you. Tell us again how it's the liberals that are big meanies.

I haven't watched the clip, so maybe it was done in humor, but in general jokes that imply the person should be killed never land well.

Like I said, no sense of humor at all. You fellows traded it for outrage and got the short end of the stick.

Yeah, well I hope your wife doesn't get r****d after you talk shit to someone.

Hahaha look at that funny joke. Comedy has moved on from thinking someone is funny just because they're an asshole. Actually that comedy was never funny and the good comedians never practiced it.

Anyways I go to the comedy club monthly, I think my sense of humor is fine.

One of the main reasons I rarely watch CNN is their forum segments-they often are staged catfights. I'll watch WWF if I want that garbage.
it's one of the reasons I never watch any cable "news".

Talking head performative "on the left! on the right!" gladiatorial theater. Jon Stewart had it right when he came on Crossfire many years ago and tore into them.
