All craft beer bars should have Bud Light on the menu.

Amazing beer! Had to remind myself its okay to be pretty buzzed after a four pack first time I got them.

As far as the rest of the thread, all the American/double/imperial IPA hate is silly. Some people just really like the flavors of hops and want it strong. I don't go and piss in someones cheerios when they drink some insane stout. I do agree there aren't enough options outside hoppy stuff, would love to see more ambers and browns. Independence makes two great ones, Austin Amber and Bootlegger, don't know how far outside of central Texas they'd be available though.

Agree

And I am starting to like dark beers more.

No, but the hipsters adopted it shortly after craft beer started becoming mainstream. 😛 They used to stand for rare, craft beer eschewing the traditional mega-breweries, now they've adopted the cheap PBR because they feel it represents the working man or some shit. Hipsters have a compulsive need to believe they're on the bleeding edge despite non-hipsters just pointing and laughing or not giving shit most of the time.

It's ironic, that's why. A shit beer with the name "blue ribbon" because it won an award at the world beer fest over 100 years ago.

They also did underground marketing, sponsoring local events entirely without a big marketing presence like billboards or superbowl ads. All local sponsoring by giving out swag like belt buckles, pins, shirts, caps, at local bars. The hipsters ate it up.

Anything is expensive at hipster bar. That's why I like dive bars. $1 blue collar bottles. PRB, High life, Busch...

Plus they usually have awesome burgers and a full menu of deep fried...whatever you want to help soak up your $6 six pack.

you got some fancy dive bars there if they're serving food

You're lucky. I've seen $8 PBRs in places. And when I asked the bartender he remarked "that is what people are willing to pay. It's weird, I know."

oh for sure, the $5 was the cheap bar price. I've definitely paid $8-10 for a tallboy before....but unlike the examples you guys are referencing, the tallboy is always the cheapest $/oz on the menu.

Hmm...must be the fact that I'm used to being in college towns then. Cuz PBR is dirt cheap. Usually $2 for tallboys.

what the fuck. there are times I can't even buy a bottle of water for $2.

So I take it you haven't been to a bar where they do dollar beer specials?

That said, I've seen more than $2 for water, usually every sort of festival or ourdoors thing anywhere where there is not a drinking fountain the vendors will try to jack you.

Just can't get into IPA's myself, though I've had tons of them as my friends bug me to try. The more micro-y they get the less I seem to like. I really don't like the flavor of hops I assume?

I would still always go for a stella or spaten over a bud light though, unless I'm playing beer pong. Yes, Stella is mass produced garbage by most accounts but I just don't enjoy typical american 'piss' beers for anything besides mass drinking games.

Heh. I'd take a coors light over a stella. I'm just not a fan of that skunked tasting euro-lager. Stella, Heineken, ect. Bleh.

I don't care for PBR, but in it's defense; that's better than most craft beers have done. I can also guarantee most if given a choice of your best craft beer vs PBR, would pick the latter.

It has never been confirmed PBR won anything, whereas for craft beer: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/world-beer-cup-2014-stats-winners-list.169082/

If I know someone's palate, I can find them a craft beer they'd drink over an American Lager. You wouldn't give a port wine to someone who casually drinks a Sutter Home dessert wine. Again, you have no fucking idea what you're talking about - you just like seeing your own posts.

Go cry in your beer. You are acting like a child.

You proved me wrong?

No one knows whether or not the PBR claim is true or not.

Regardless, that would be 1 award. Per your statement:

I posted the awards that craft beers have won at the World Beer Cup, which is the largest international beer competition. Again, proved you wrong.

Many non-craft beers have won awards as well.

I can guarantee you a Bud Light would be picked over your craft stuff most of the time.

Face it, you are wrong and part of the problem.

No, you're just an internet tough guy who likes to pick fights to make himself feel like a man, to compensate for something. You're fighting with someone who knows quite a bit about a subject, and you have no chance of winning an argument against on the subject, yet you continue to persist.

Your sole objective on this forum is to go into any thread and make it about you, or to make yourself look better. Period. Unfortunately, I've succumbed to your purpose.

The mods should make you disappear, you provide NOTHING to this forum, yet they don't. It's a fucking joke. It's unfortunate that we lose a member like Dennis, yet we have to deal with you.
